Which do you prefer

  • Ella or Zara

Both fairly popular names, I love them both. Ella I’m worried that it’s too overly used and Zara I’m worried it’s too harsh/association with the clothing shop. Would love to hear what you think. Smile

Zara is lovely.

I like Ella but know around 30 of Ella, Elle, Ellie. Very overused.

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 13/07/2021 20:23

Zara and Ella are both pretty common where I am. What about Nora or Tara?

Isn't the point about1st names that you give children a few options to abbreviate to fit their personality?

TatianaBis · 13/07/2021 21:03

Not another Ella. Zara is better.

Prefer Cara.

joesm12 · 13/07/2021 21:40

My dd1 is Lara her baby sisters middle name is Ella 🙂
Both lovely names. Would say Ella is more feminine as the Z sound is quite harsh

Lavender21 · 13/07/2021 21:45

I prefer Zara.
I do think Lara is nicer.

Chilldonaldchill · 13/07/2021 21:58

I much prefer Zara. I really like that.
I admit I find Ella boring.

DramaAlpaca · 13/07/2021 22:00

Love Zara, it's got a bit of edge to it.

Ella is bland and nothingy.

Zarene · 13/07/2021 22:02

I like Zara. Very cool. I know one out of tonnes of preschoolers, so it's hardly ubiquitous.

I have a Zara and she gets loads of compliments on her name and I've yet to meet another child with the name. I am a big fan of the shop so was dubious but so glad I went for it as I don't notice the connection now

Lara and Lyra are very pretty.

MorriseysGladioli · 14/07/2021 00:47

Zara is the nicer name, I think.

Kanaloa · 14/07/2021 02:40

Zara is lovely, Ella is okay. I don’t think it’s too associated with the clothing store, it isn’t as if it’s a bad association at all.

Femwitch · 14/07/2021 03:49

What is the significance of the 4 letters? Just wondering as to me Clara has a similar-but-different feel to both Ella and Zara but obvs is 5 letters...
