If you have a child that uses the end of the name rather than the beginning e.g.

Annabelle - Belle/Bella
Matilda - Tilly
Elizabeth - Beth
Charlotte - Lottie

Did you do this from the beginning and do they ever then go back to full names?

I'm interested in this too because I want to call my daughter Charlotte/Lottie

They are all different.

Dd was going to be Frederick if she was a boy, to be known ad Eric.

Best to do it from the beginning.

When a friend had her DD, the name was announced as Elizabeth** and immediately was called Beth but they then announced that the baby would be known as Ellie.

**Not the actual name, but same pattern

If you want a nickname to stick then the best way to do that is to use if from the beginning and only introduce them with the nickname. Saying 'here is Xander' rather than 'this is Alexander but we call him Xander'. Whether they go back to their full name or another nickname depends on the child. Some will and some won't, just depends on how much they care about their name.
