Is this name awful? I love it and my grandad was Frank so thought it was a nice nod to him

It's okay - bit surnamey to me but at least it's not a really trendy/top 100 one so it shouldn't date badly. Makes me think of the (ultimately tragic) famous British explorer and then aIl those US Presidents so he'll have a lot of interesting namesakes. I do prefer classic Francis but I know some people find that a bit feminine sounding.

HoldingTheDoor · 12/07/2021 15:34

It's awful imo. Perhaps as a middle name as a tribute but it doesn't work for me as a first name. The Frank part makes it such an ugly sounding name.

ILoveShula · 12/07/2021 15:40

I don't like it as anything other than a surname.

Synchrony · 12/07/2021 22:46

I love it but husband vetoed as he deemed it too American. I like Frank too.

DramaAlpaca · 12/07/2021 22:47

Sorry, but to me it is indeed awful, as is Frank.

But if you like it take no notice of others' opinions.

I had a guinea pig called Franklin. A better use for the name.

I know a Frankie. He is 8. Short for Francesco, but no one ever calls him that.
I like Frank and Frankie, and as a family connection it makes it more lovely.
