What do you think for a Girl name

  • Lorena (what would you give as middle name)

Really stuck on boys names, prefer more traditional, only though of

  • Oliver (Husband not keen)

Lorena is lovely.

Not too keen on Oliver. It is a nice name but he will probably always be known as his full name, like Oliver Jones, rather than just Oliver.

DD had 5 in her class at Primary and they are all called by their full names.

Lorena is OK. I would probably give her a family name as a middle name, or a name that has a personal connection or special meaning to me. If I didn't have any of those, maybe something like Lorena Charlotte, Lorena Juliet, Lorena Ivy, Lorena Zoe.

Oliver is apparently the most popular boys name in England and Wales at the moment. Saying that, the only one I know is in his late 20s. If you like Oliver, how about Oscar, George, Frederick, Jack, Lucas, James, Aaron, Nathan, Nathaniel, Joseph.

Lorena isn't my taste (I usually prefer more traditional or classical names like similar Laura or Lorna) but there's nothing wrong with it that I can see. I'd give her a classic middle name that doesn't also end in -a, like Elizabeth, Charlotte, Isabel, Beatrice, Imogen etc.

If you like Oliver you might like Alexander, Arthur, Oscar, Peter, Xavier, Owen, William, Frederick, Sebastian.

Is Lorena pronounced like Lorenna or loreena? I'm not sure I like it tbh. I like Loretta though.

I like Lorena. I think it suits something a bit Latin sounding, so

Lorena Maria
Lorena Bianca
Lorena Viola
