I thought of this name earlier and I quite like it, has anyone heard of it before?
Thought nickname Buck too was cute

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I’ve just watched The Flight Attendant and there’s a Bucklie in that…

beigebrownblue · 09/07/2021 18:40

Sorry don't like it at all. Most useful advice from one OP here I would go with.

'Think of the possible playground taunts'.

FlaminEckVera · 09/07/2021 19:09

Bucklie for an actual forename??? 🤢

@JLE93

JUST NO!!!!!

donquixotedelamancha · 09/07/2021 19:34

OP, you forgot to tell us what type of pet this is for.

NigellaSeed · 09/07/2021 19:38

I know it from Kimmy Schmidt too. The name suits the character of the mother to have picked such a name. Not a compliment.

Also, Sounds like a dog name

TatianaBis · 09/07/2021 19:48

Hell no.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 09/07/2021 19:52

I could tolerate Buckley, but the cutesy -ie ending would make me 🙄

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 09/07/2021 19:53

@DocDog

Buckfast?

@crinklyfoil omg yes you are right! That's a line from Kill Bill, it came screaming back to me after reading your comment.

Makes me think of King Of The Hill and Luanne’s boyfriend in that show.

Lockdownbear · 09/07/2021 23:44

@DocDog

Buckfast?
Thanks God I'm not alone thinking of a nickname for a cheap wine.

I spotted a guy in a "Blame the Buckie" t-shirt the other day.

Sorry op it's a no from me.

LuluJakey1 · 09/07/2021 23:50

It's horrible. Buck is a harsh sounding, ugly word. Bucklie just sounds thick and stupid- very unattractive and common.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 10/07/2021 00:16

Buckingham Palace?

Isitpossi · 10/07/2021 00:27

Horrific

MaxiPaddy · 10/07/2021 05:48

Buckley is a douchey character on King Of The Hill.

Brooklyn999999 · 10/07/2021 06:15

“Buckley’s” means “no chance” or “no hope” where I’m from. So I’d say there’s Buckley’s chance of this name choice working out, sorry.

LongTimeMammaBear · 10/07/2021 06:28

Love it as it brought back such fond memories when my DS was little - reminded me of one of his favourite cartoon character

3Lions · 10/07/2021 06:45

Well it's a surname.

Hoppinggreen · 10/07/2021 06:50

@AfterSchoolWorry

Why the 'ie' at the end? Why not just Buckley?
Yoo neek innit
MadeOfStarStuff · 10/07/2021 14:49

Buckley sounds very American. Bucklie sounds like an American who can’t spell plus it’s weirdly cutsified yet masculine

I don’t like it at all.

Naming a child after a cartoon character would be a fairly bizarre thing to do. ESPECIALLY when it's this name

Nohomemadecandles · 10/07/2021 14:57

I usually say, "I'f you like it go for it" but this sits alongside Nevaeh in the monstrosity stakes.

There's a reason it's "unusual", mate. It's a shocker.
