I thought of this name earlier and I quite like it, has anyone heard of it before?
Thought nickname Buck too was cute

Buckminster Fuller was a famous American futurist. I read some of his books back in the day. His first name was Richard though.

Mpsister · 09/07/2021 14:17

Nice try 🤣🤣🤣

DinaofCloud9 · 09/07/2021 14:20

Awful name and the spelling makes it even worse. It's so ugly sounding.

ILoveShula · 09/07/2021 14:29

Speaking of Buckminster, howw about Buddleigh, Budd for short, or Buzz short for Buzzard.

DocDog · 09/07/2021 14:30

Buckfast?

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 09/07/2021 14:32

you should go with Buckwheat, then Bucklie for short. or Wheatie

GreyhoundG1rl · 09/07/2021 14:32

Oh, please... I really hope you're taking the piss, tbh. Nobody could actually think this is a suitable name for their child.

Wineandroses3 · 09/07/2021 14:33

My honest opinion to the question you have asked is it sounds absolutely awful.

romdowa · 09/07/2021 14:36

Worst surname turned first name I've ever heard .....

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 09/07/2021 14:37

GameSetMatch · 09/07/2021 14:38

Sounds fine… for a dog.

TwinsAndTrifle · 09/07/2021 14:38

Awful

romdowa · 09/07/2021 14:38

I quite like stalin and goring personally 🤣🤣🤣

AfterSchoolWorry · 09/07/2021 14:38

Why the 'ie' at the end? Why not just Buckley?

ILoveShula · 09/07/2021 14:39

I know someone whose surname is Crapper. How about that if you like surnames as first names?

ILoveShula · 09/07/2021 14:42

Or if you like place names as first names, may I offer:

Belvoir
Penistone
Scunthorppe
Bell End
...

Buckaroo!

Warrickdaviesasplates · 09/07/2021 14:48

I've only ever seen it spelt as Buckley. Is there a reason you've opted for the "ie" spelling?

I think people would get used to it and there are a lot of these surname as first name type names at the moment so maybe it won't stand out from the trend that much.

It's not a name I particularly like, but I wouldn't be overly surprised to hear it especially against the type of names at a lot of the baby groups we attend, think Archer, Hunter, Grayson, Harrison etc Buckley would almost blend in.

ILoveShula · 09/07/2021 15:02

Buckley is near Mold and Mold is the nicer (IMO) of the two towns.

midsomermurderess · 09/07/2021 15:02

It puts me in mind if Buckie, Buckfast.

Sennedd · 09/07/2021 15:02

There is a town called Buckley in North Wales.
