I have just started another thread about a sibling for Archie.
My partner has suggested this, what do we think? Is it a name? I am unsure

My DS is Franklin.

Frankie for short
Or Frank to other people.

It's a lovely name and we've received so many compliments on it.

stellarfox · 04/07/2021 21:23

I like it, although I’d probably just use Frank personally

FartleBarfle · 04/07/2021 21:29

I like Frank and Frankie and know a boy and a girl with these names - they really suit them!

Franklin is pretty cool - will remind people of Franklin D Roosevelt which is good. Although it also reminds me of the puppet Franklin from Arrested Development - may be a cult following but worth checking out the reference.

Velvetbee · 04/07/2021 23:08

Great name, we have a cheese plant called Franklin.

Cbeebiesrehab · 05/07/2021 07:20

I like Franklin and find it much cooler than Francis. Like Frank as a diminutive too.

BlueChampagne · 05/07/2021 13:01

Like it

dextermorgan00 · 05/07/2021 13:02

I actually prefer Francis myself

BashStreet1 · 05/07/2021 13:04

Really like it. Unusual without being silly or made up!

And Frank/ Frankie are great too.

HoldingTheDoor · 05/07/2021 13:14

It's awful. Frank has to be one of the ugliest, harshest sounding names out there and adding Lin to it doesn't make it much better.

DramaAlpaca · 05/07/2021 13:18

I'm really sorry but I don't like it at all, but then I don't like Archie either. We don't have the same taste, obviously but that's not a bad thing as it would be very boring if everyone liked the same thing.

However, they do go very well together and if I heard them as siblings I would think they were a good match.

Kottbullar · 05/07/2021 13:25

I don't like it at all, not least because it reminds me of a cartoon my eldest used to watch about a whining turtle!

Francis is lovely though, it's a name I regret not using.

Ewanispurple · 05/07/2021 13:30

I really love it! And don't know a single one, go for it Smile

ILoveShula · 05/07/2021 14:31

I don't like it. Francis nn Frank is ok.

PattyPan · 05/07/2021 16:14

Is it for a boy? I don’t like it, it sounds too much like a surname. Frank is a name I struggle to imagine on a child, like Barry or Gerald. Francis is a bit better.

BiBabbles · 05/07/2021 16:39

I love it, it was on my short list.

I find the Francis comments funny, as I've a friend who has a DS named Franklin who is named after her grandfather Francis who absolutely hated his name, no one used it, always went by Frank. They talked about it, apparently Franklin was a name used a few generation above him, it seems to have gone back and forth a bit. It does seem a bit marmite where most people like one or the other but not so often both.

FindingMeno · 05/07/2021 16:40

Gorgeous

Helpmetopickone · 05/07/2021 18:35

Thank you for al the comments!
It is between Francis and Franklin but I was edging towards Franklin not so sure after these comments though.

I think Franklin is adorable. So is Frankie but I personally really don't like Frank.

FourForFore4 · 06/07/2021 03:45

I love Franklin, something a bit different which gives him options as he grows up. I know a Frank, Frankie & a Francis, they are all
Gorgeous boys who really suit their names.

Mammaaof · 06/07/2021 03:47

My little boy is Frankie as a full name, although I call him Franks most the time, I think it's really suits him and I don't know another one ( that's a boy anyway)

Yousexybugger · 06/07/2021 06:41

I really don't like it to be honest, I couldn't really say why but it sounds a bit weak and whiny. Francis is really nice though.

DerisorySnort · 06/07/2021 07:21

I love it! I think it sounds cool but also distinguished. I like Francis, too.

iamalighthouse · 06/07/2021 07:25

reminds me of the cartoon turtle.....I don't really like it
