Sera or Caia

I can’t decide. Please help 🙏🏼

How do you say them, and what language is it, out of interest?

Caia : Kye-ah
Sera: like Vera

I live in the Netherlands but have family worldwide so not keen on very Dutch sounding names :-)

Do you say Vera as Veera or Vaira?

Both are nice, but If you say Sera the same as Sarah, it might get misspelt as Sarah. Kaia Gerber is famous so Caia might get written as Kaia quite often.

Otherwise both are nice.

If Sera is said as See-ra, then I'm not keen. It looks a bit too much like Que Será Será.

I love both, although I just assumed Sera was pronounced like Sarah. Possibly people would mispronounce it?

Although that doesn't matter once you've corrected people a few times, they will soon learn it!

Actually, yes I think Sera is my favourite. It sounds really pretty.

I like Caia ( not with a K though). I don't normally like names like this, but I think it's pretty.
I don't understand the pronunciation of Sera ( do you mean to rhyme with Vera?). It's nice if pronounced the Italian way ( meaning evening I think).

I also like it pronounced like Sarah and the name would be connected to my best friend and cousin Sarah. But where I live I think people will pronounce it like Seerah more often. Either way works for me haha. Still love Caia too though 😅

I’d go for Caia if I were you. It makes a change from all the Maia’s/Maya’s. The pronunciation of Sera might get annoying. Good luck.

I sound like an Australian saying Sarah when I say Sera.

Sera is will get mispronounced and Caia will get misspelt. I probably prefer Caia but whichever you go for there will be that level of annoyance.

I would probably say Caia. I like Sara but I'm not keen on Sera, I find the sound quite severe.

Thank you! We’ve decided on Caia :-). I love it. Her middle name was going to be Nicole, after her grandmother. But we are leaning into Sarah Jo. After my cousin and best friend and another important person in our lives. So there will still be a Sarah in there, but written the classic way.

Aw that’s a lovely name, especially nice to have a meaningful middle name in there.
