Cant decide!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@TatianaBis, it was in response to this:
Ah that's just accent. London accents can pronounce Th as F but it's a custom not a speech impediment.
My point was that it isn't about accents. The people I know who say th as f are not from London.

What's "it"? Is this a name change fail?

mibbelucieachwell · 01/07/2021 18:59

I know a lovely little Amelia. Her name is pronounced Am - eelia. Mum is Latin American living in Britain if that's relevant to anything. Probably isn't though.

I know of a Thea who's 8.

Both in Scotland.

Thea by a mile.

Amelie is extremely twee and also overused. I just find it hard to imagine a strong grown up woman with this name.

Lilypansy · 02/07/2021 05:24

Definitely Amelie.

Chilldonaldchill · 02/07/2021 18:36

I love both but prefer Thea.

Blackjeans88 · 02/07/2021 18:41

I have a Thea.

I get Tia, or Theo? As I dont dress her in pink, so she obviously must be a boy haha! Doesn't bother me at all. Never had anyone that cant pronounce the 'Th'.

Chunkymenrock · 02/07/2021 19:24

Thea is dull and uninspiring. Amelie is ok but I just think ammer-lee and it's too close to the awful uh-mealy-uh.

KirstenBlest · 02/07/2021 19:37

Not just me then, @Chunkymenrock. Amelie looks pretty written down but the sound is meh. I don't like A-meeeeeely-a.

17caterpillars1mouse · 02/07/2021 20:22

I'm no help I know both and know 2 of each

Amelie ( 4 and 2)
Thea (5 and 2)

BettySuz · 02/07/2021 20:29

Amelie is cute for a little girl, but as an adult woman, I wouldn't want to be called it. I know of 3 under 5.

Thea was my favourite for a girl I love it. It is stronger and less cutesy than Amelie so its good for all ages. I know of 2, a toddler and a teenager
