REALLY struggling with boy names

Hello :) expecting first child soon, keeping the sex a surprise, but cannot decide on a boy’s name at all. The only ones I like are Henry and Julius but can’t have either of them due to close family. I love Arthur but it’s currently far too popular (close family member has also already got it) so is also a no go.

I like ‘classic’ names (for want of a better word) so nothing like Chase/Hunter/Atlas etc, and would love it to be outside of the top 50-100 if possible. I dislike the names that used to be popular a few decades ago (Paul, Steven, Michael, etc)

So I’m after a less common but still classical boy’s name. I’ve tried to find top 200 lists to look at the names between 100-200 but can’t find one anywhere!

Any suggestions would be so helpful and appreciated because at the moment this poor baby is going to be called ‘Baby’ for eternity if it’s a boy!!!

Not very helpful, but when I looked at my newborn I knew his name & it hadn't been on any of our lists. It couldn't be anything else!
It might happen like that for you OP.

But my suggestions are:
Jude
Thomas
Nicholas
Elliot
Eden
Reuben

The only true "classics" imo are probably ones that have never left the top 100 historically - William, Alexander, Edward, Thomas, George, Charles and James.

But if you like traditional Henry, you might like other "kingly" names not like Robert, Malcolm, John, Edmund, Alfred etc.

Or if you like classical Julius , then perhaps consider Magnus, Caius, Maximilian, Lucius/Lucian, Cassius, Benedict, Marcus, Dominic, Gregory, August/Augustus.

Sorry the "not" shouldn't have been in there!

@Sarah180818 love the name Atticus (partner doesn’t) and Xander is on my list! Is that on the birth cert and do people respond well to Xander?

Thank you everyone for further suggestions, there’s a few on there that we actually both agree on :D

Also, Caspar I adore but partner immediately vetoed. Still working on it.

Atticus is a brave choice though we've had really lovely comments on it. We call him Attie for short. Xander is Xander on his birth certificate and people have loved it. We didn't want to put Alexander and he end up being Alex. Xander is not quite as unusual as Atticus but still not really common.
