Finley

24 weeks pregnant with a baby boy and we are struggling with names, there just aren't many boys names out there I love. The only one we both like is Finley (but I'm not sure if I love it). I would like to use Michael as his middle name after my dad but DP doesn't think it flows? What are your thoughts?

Also any other name suggestions welcome.

I think Finley Michael is just lovely 😊

Finley Michael is perfect
Much more important to think of a middle name with meaning rather than something that supposedly flows as you'll rarely say the full name anyway
If you like Finley you might like Freddie, Tristan, Sidney or Percy but I think Finley is nicest

I like Finley as its unisex. Also I like Ffinlo, an old Manx gaelic name.

I think Finley Michael is lovely. Fintan is another idea. Good luck.

Love it! Finn is probably my favourite name of all time but it’s already taken in my family so I’ve found it sooo hard to pick something else. Wish we could use it

Thank you all. I totally agree that it's more important to pick a middle name that mean something rather than picking something just because it goes. We've spoke again about it and I think it's going to be the one we end up using Smile

Michael is lovely, and agree that middle names don't really need to flow as they don't get used on a day to day basis. Just check that the first name and surname flow.

Finley is fine..

I prefer the traditional spelling, Findlay.

Pengwyn · 26/06/2021 13:41

Damn autocorrect, I meant Finlay!

PeacefulInTheDeep · 26/06/2021 13:47

My DS is Finlay Peter. It's the only boys name DH and I both agreed on.

Garraty47 · 26/06/2021 13:47

I'm honestly not keen on Finley. It's a cute baby/little boy name, but for an adult it's a bit wet.

I guess they could choose to shorten it to Finn? That's slightly better.

I absolutely love Finley… I’m pregnant now and it was our absolute dead cert for a boy, but it’s so popular now… that’s really put me off!

It’s a gorgeous name Flowers
