Hi everyone,

Confirmed I’m having a little boy at my 20 week scan yesterday!

We already have a little boy called Lucas.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the name Theo? Any other suggestions that go well with Lucas?

Thanks! Grin

Congratulations Flowers

Theo is a great name.

The first name that comes to my mind that goes with Lucas is Toby

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 25/06/2021 20:14

Really like Theo. Both Theo and Lucas were on our boy list. Smile

SamMil · 25/06/2021 20:15

Theo is a great name!

Violetlavenders · 25/06/2021 20:31

I find it dull due to overuse

emmathedilemma · 25/06/2021 20:38

I really like it but they do seem to be popping up everywhere at the moment!

Kanaloa · 25/06/2021 21:08

Lovely. Very very popular, but a lovely name.

SoapboxFox · 25/06/2021 21:31

Theo is a really nice name and goes well with Lucas.

beans1992 · 26/06/2021 08:39

Beautiful. It’s a contender for us too but I would use Theodore and shorten it I think

orangejuicer · 26/06/2021 08:42

I think it's great Grin

I don't know of any other Theos around here either.

SupermanInk · 26/06/2021 08:46

Theo is one of my favourite names and it goes well with Lucas I think. I also like Jacob, Alexander and Oscar.

ForkedIt · 26/06/2021 08:52

Lovely name and potentially would’ve used it if ours had been a boy two years ago. Now glad that wasn’t the case as it’s easily the most popular boys name where we live. So if popularity is important to you, I’d used something different.

sarah13xx · 26/06/2021 08:55

It’s nice 😊 would you do the ted/teddy nickname?

TatianaBis · 26/06/2021 10:26

It’s ok, very over-used.

daisypond · 26/06/2021 10:45

I like it and it goes alongside Lucas.

pantherrose · 26/06/2021 10:58

Love it, Theo was second on our list, Miles was third.

ILoveShula · 26/06/2021 12:34

Dull because of overuse. Lucas is nice. How about Zachary?

ISaidDontLickTheBin · 26/06/2021 12:38

I like Theo, although there are eleventy billion little Theo's round my way. Ditto Toby, Oscar, Arthur. All nice names though!

AliasGrape · 26/06/2021 12:42

I love Theo it was on my boys' list.

It is always said to be over popular on mumsnet but it must be regional because I have only ever taught one (EY teacher for 15 years) and that was over a decade ago and have never come across another one not even since having DD. There are a great many Teds and Teddies around here either as a name in their own right or shortened from Theodore but not met any using Theo.

AliasGrape · 26/06/2021 12:48

I also liked Owen, Robin, Blake, Torin, Hugo, Spencer and Matthew for other ideas.

Frazzled2207 · 26/06/2021 12:48

It was my first choice but husband vetoed because I think it means gift from God and he is atheist.
Still like it but there are zillions of small Theos (I work with preschoolers)

PassTheVinoTinto · 26/06/2021 13:44

I only know one and he's in his twenties.

Love the name and Lucas and Theo work really well together.

Congratulations, I have two DSs who are now grumpy 6 foot teenagers but they still love a cuddle Thanks

LolaSmiles · 26/06/2021 13:45

It's a nice name but very popular in my area. There seems to be a lot of Theo, Toby, Teddy names at the moment.

ILoveStickers · 26/06/2021 14:43

Really nice, goes well with Lucas. I know it's popular nationally, but I actually haven't met any little ones called Theo yet with my toddler. (I've met a couple of teenagers, but a few years back.)

cariadlet · 26/06/2021 15:00

I didn't used to like the name but I have a Theo in my class this year and he's so lovely that he's won me round to it.

ChocolateRiver · 26/06/2021 15:11

I like Theo, but I find it far too popular these days.
