Kerenza! It’s how I’ve spelt my own girls name.

Sunnyday321 · 24/06/2021 22:01

Kerenza

ScribblyBaller · 24/06/2021 22:01

I've only ever seen it spelt Kerenza before. Not sure which is more authentic. Lovely name though. Elowen is also very pretty.

There's Morwenna too. In Poldark she was the poor girl forced into marriage with that porcine vicar. Nice name though!

SunSeaSurfGin · 24/06/2021 22:29

Lowenna or Kerenza

Other suggestions
Damelza
Morwenna
Sennen
Merryn
Bryher
Kensa

tilder · 24/06/2021 22:31

Merryn is beautiful

YawningAngel · 24/06/2021 22:34

Carenza in any form sounds a bit too much like a writing desk to me.

Hippohappiness · 24/06/2021 22:35

Kerenza is lovely. Also like Elowen, Morwenna and Merryn.

YawningAngel · 24/06/2021 22:35

Is she hoping the child will grow up to be an elf?

HmmHmmHmm

Is Loveday Cornish??? I feel that it is but not sure

SleepingStandingUp · 24/06/2021 22:40

Elowen from your list but agree re Morwenna and Merryn

Luckingfovely · 24/06/2021 22:40

Yup, carenza always sounds like furniture to me!

My favourite Cornish name is Tegan. Still regret not fighting harder for it!

SunSeaSurfGin · 24/06/2021 22:42

Yes Tegan or Tegen are great too

CroydianSlip · 24/06/2021 22:46

I once met a Zennor, which I thought was pretty fabulous. I also worked with a Tamar, named as her mum loved Cornwall so much. So I guess looking at place names may give some more ideas. Didn't the Camerons use Endellion in their daughter's names?

Cam2020 · 24/06/2021 23:04

Keren
Clowance

Are you rude about Welsh, Scottish and Irish names as well?
CaffiSaliMali · 25/06/2021 11:16

Kerenza
Lowenna
Elowen
Esyld

Love them all, especially Eseld which is Cornish for Iseult.

Morwenna is a fabulous name which is also on my list (it's Welsh as well as Cornish).

Kerenza is lovely (afaik it's always a K in Cornish, e.g. Kernow).
When I was at school it was one of the most popular traditional names down there, but that was 30+ years ago so probably has no bearing on names now.
Other Cornish names in my class/es were Lowenna, Benneth, Kayna, Kenza, Delenick, Demelza, Tamsin, Jenna. As pp I've always loved Tegan and Loveday, but never actually met any.
