Help with puppy names!

I know it’s not a baby name but we seriously need help before the DCs spontaneously combust. Puppy is male, we haven’t been allocated which one yet but it’ll either be a golden or liver spaniel. He’s going to be working as an assistance dog, DD has speech & language disorder so it needs to be easy to pronounce.

I like but we can’t use:
Arthur
Charlie
Ernie
Bertie

DCs like but I don’t:
Arnold
Milo
Gary Confused

I like but DCs don’t:
Copper
Percy

Help!!

Let them name him Gary. Smile

BabbleBee · 25/06/2021 09:19

Gary the dog is hilarious!!

I love Barney but in my head Barney is a Beagle - my favourite book as a child.

Some great ideas here.

Shortlist so far

Percy
Griffin
Basil (I really don’t like!)
Rusty
Barnaby
Otis
Ned
Arnold / Arnie

It’ll be me doing all the training and walks so I’m demanding the final say Grin

Reggie!

BabbleBee · 25/06/2021 09:25

@cheeseisthebest good luck! I’m refusing to use a name that I’m not happy to call standing on the top of the hills. DD suggested Misty - can you imagine being in the wide open countryside calling Misty on a bright sunny day Grin

Otis. I had a childhood friend who had a dog named Otis. He was a charmer, full of personality. I also like Rusty for the same reason.

BellaVida · 25/06/2021 14:56

Max
Hector
Walter
Eddie
Bear
Freddy

Peachypips78 · 25/06/2021 15:03

Our dog is called Wilf!

spiderlight · 25/06/2021 16:19

Arlo
Eddie (we have one and it lends itself to so many nicknames)
Bob
Toby
Dave

BabbleBee · 25/06/2021 19:03

I like Arlo too.

Barley has been added to the shortlist by 8yo DD. That’s her absolute favourite.
