So I’m due my second son at the end of September and me and the husband are still not set on a name. He likes Hendrix which I also like but I’m still pushing for Axton which he’s not keen on. I thought it would go nice with our first sons name Jaxon.

If these were your 2 name options what name would you go for? And if you have any middle name suggestions for either name that would be appreciated

Thanks 😊

Don't do Jaxon and Axton. People will subconsciously add in or take out a t so you'll get Jaxton and Axton or Jaxon and Axon.

Hendrix is also far nicer on its own that Axton.

Hendrix James

Xander? Works nicely with Jaxon. Axton is quite harsh sounding for me, and Hendrix very rock star. If you are going to go down the rock star route, then I'd probably consider using similar Axel instead (which is at least more well used internationally/no rock star connotations in Germany and Scandinavia). If you love the letter X, I really like the names Maxim, Felix and Xavier too.

Middle name suggestions would depend on your surname but I'd probably stick with something classic since the first names are more unusual - so William, Thomas, James, Charles, Edward, Henry, Michael, Samuel, Joseph etc

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 23/06/2021 18:52

Oh sorry misread - if forced to pick one of those two, Hendrix has a much nicer sound to me.

DoucheCanoe · 23/06/2021 18:55

Hendrix.

Axton is awful. Particularly when paired with Jaxon. Way too similar.

BikeRunSki · 23/06/2021 18:57

Hendrix

With a traditional middle name. James would be ideal, but you may want to step away from the Jimmy Hendrix associations.

Mpsister · 23/06/2021 18:58

I'm sorry but you did ask...Axton is really, really awful. Hendrix is pretty awful too, but not quite as bad.

MaverickDanger · 23/06/2021 19:00

Hendrix goes better, Jaxon and Axton sound too similar.

Hendrix Joshua
Hendrix Arthur
Hendrix Ellis

I know you aren’t necessarily looking for suggestions but Apollo came to mind with Jaxon.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 23/06/2021 19:03

Jaxon and Axton are ridiculous together because they’re so similar. Hendrix is much better (but not great in my opinion).

Isolatingperhaps · 23/06/2021 19:05

Axton and Jaxon is too close for me. I first read it as Axton and Jaxton.

Hendrix is nicer.

ScribblyBaller · 23/06/2021 19:06

Hendrix

The x and the t together in Axton make it quite awkward to say.

FayCarew · 23/06/2021 19:19

Axel would be better than Axton. Not keen on Axton or Hendrix.

HumunaHey · 23/06/2021 19:26

Another vote for Hendrix. I really don't like Axton.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 23/06/2021 19:28

I like Axton. Ive never heard that one before, but Its far too tongue twisty with Jaxon. I'm saying Jascon and Axter and Axton and Jaxter in my headGrin
Don't get me wrong you can still have similar names that you can pull off.
Eg Jaxon and Baxter.

So if Hendrix and Axton are the only 2 you like I'd say go with Hendrix.

Floralnomad · 23/06/2021 19:29

Hendrix is the marginally better of the two but they are both dreadful .

User24689 · 23/06/2021 19:30

What about Aston?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 23/06/2021 19:31

Do you like Ashton or Ashley

Nettleship · 23/06/2021 19:33

Definitely Hendrix of the two! Jaxon and Axton are way too close. How about Axel?

stellarfox · 23/06/2021 19:42

I’d say Hendrix purely because Axton is too similar to Jaxson.

NotTheCatsWhiskers · 23/06/2021 20:06

Axton is awful but even more terrible with Jaxon.

Aston?

You seem to have a thing about ‘Xs’. I don’t like Hendrix either, it’s either the singer or sounds like the gin.

NigellaSeed · 23/06/2021 20:14

Brian

Orphlids · 23/06/2021 20:18

I assumed this was a joke thread when I read you wanted to call your kids Jaxon and Axton, but everyone else seem to think it could be genuine. So I’ll join the others in saying don’t use Axton. Hendrix is better.

sarah13xx · 23/06/2021 22:31

Have to say I’d go Hendrix, love the name anyway but the other two names are too similar

Enough4me · 23/06/2021 22:36

Hendrix is slightly OK. Don't like the others.

IVflytrap · 23/06/2021 22:47

Hendrix. Jaxon and Axton are too rhymey and a bit of a tongue twister when said fast together.

Hendrix Oscar
Hendrix Nathan
Hendrix Liam
Hendrix Ezra
Hendrix Vincent
Hendrix Silas
Hendrix Paul
Hendrix Bram
Hendrix Elijah
Hendrix Asher
Hendrix Joel

Jem1979 · 28/06/2021 08:45

I much prefer Hendrix. Think Axton is too similar to Jaxon. What about Max?
