Cousins

Just looking for opinions on this?
I have cousins with the same name and it’s never been an issue but I have seen threads on here saying it is not right.
Am I not normal because I do not see an issue?

It's not anything. It's kids with names. Only in MN is there a lot of frothing over this. You are perfectly normal in respect of this.

Given that we name people to identify them, having multiple family members with the same name makes this more difficult. They'll need another identitier eg little Jack and big Jack etc

There's enough names for everyone to have their own, certainly within a large family!

It depends on how close the family is.

Cousins who meet once or twice a year? No problem.

Cousins who meet once or twice a week? Potential for lots of awkwardness.

It depends on how big the family is and how often you see each other. For example my mum has around a hundred cousins scattered between Europe and America so a few repeated names goes with the territory. I wouldn’t use a name which my sister used, because names exist to be identifiers and using a name in my close family would defeat the point.

Grandparents may find it confusing.

Just depends on how often they'd see each other really.
