Leo or Sebastian?

These are my two favourites for a boy but struggling to decide. Not sure of middle name yet. If we chose Sebastian he would be known as Seb. Would love your thoughts x

Leo

Sebastian is ok but I dislike Seb (sebaceous = oily) or Basty (bastard)

How about Leonardo?

SoapboxFox · 21/06/2021 11:43

Leo

RuthW · 21/06/2021 12:12

Sebastian without a doubt. Love Seb. Leo is so boring.

TatianaBis · 21/06/2021 13:21

Sebastian. Its far nicer and there are way toomany Leos.

Fooshufflewickjbannanapants · 21/06/2021 13:23

Sebastian (but I have one!)

Cowbells · 21/06/2021 13:23

I like both a lot. Leo is strong and Sebastian is beautiful but agree the shortened versions of it are less attractive - Seb, Bas etc.

Theoldwoman · 21/06/2021 13:24

Love both names equally. It would depend on your surname? Middle name? Siblings? Alot of things.

Amdone123 · 21/06/2021 13:28

I love Sebastian. Dislike Leo.

YellowSun567 · 21/06/2021 13:35

Wait until your little one arrives! You will know when you see him. I couldn't decide between two names and forced myself to decide before they arrived as I wanted to be organised and know the name. Unfortunately I realised I'd chosen the wrong one when they arrived. Then spent the first couple of weeks PP severely regretting my name choice (couldn't change it as hubby was happy with the name) I still call me little one the other name sometimes and feel it suits him more. So my advice is WAIT!! Defo wait until they're here. Then YOU can choose what is right.

YellowSun567 · 21/06/2021 13:36

I like both by the way. Both lovely. Have them both. Leo Sebastian or Sebastian Leo. They go lovely together. Wait until you see him though ;)

user1471604848 · 21/06/2021 13:51

They're both lovely. I have a Sebastian, so am biased. One friend has a Leo, and it's probably a bit more popular, if that makes a difference.

Peachbubble · 21/06/2021 14:24

Leo 100%

fruitypancake · 21/06/2021 14:26

Leo for sure

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 21/06/2021 14:49

Leo, even though it's popular. Sebastian is lovely but I dislike Seb and I think it is very likely to be shortened.

midsomermurderess · 21/06/2021 15:27

I like both. Instead of Seb as a shortening for Sebastian, you could go French and use 'Bastien'.

ILoveShula · 21/06/2021 16:59

I like Leo, but it is popular.

Sebastian is strangely popular, possibly due to the same factor as why Lewis and Jenson are popular. Seb makes me think of Seborrhea and Sebum. I don't like it.

Violetlavenders · 21/06/2021 19:05

Shame about the lack of nice nicknames for Sebastian- Seb Sebbie Basty Bastian aren't nice imo, but Sebastian is quite long

Leo is much nicer and won't get shortened!

catswhiskers89 · 21/06/2021 19:06

Leo

Chilldonaldchill · 21/06/2021 19:11

Sebastian.
Seb is a great nn.

AbsolutelyPatsy · 21/06/2021 19:16

I prefer Leo personally

KurtWilde · 21/06/2021 19:24

Sebastian but then I'm biased.

Meredusoleil · 21/06/2021 19:28

@PinkFlower232

I like both by the way. Both lovely. Have them both. Leo Sebastian or Sebastian Leo. They go lovely together. Wait until you see him though ;)
Was going to say this!

Or keep whichever one you don't use for a future little brother?

Odile13 · 21/06/2021 19:31

I love the name Leo!

Seb is nice but I’m not too keen on the full name Sebastian.

kathryn77 · 21/06/2021 20:00

I like Sebastian but there are 7 in my sons year (90 kids) so all know as Sebastian P, sebastian R etc

primhutch · 21/06/2021 20:05

Love Seb x
