I like Robin, Edward and Joseph a lot. I like Kit as a nickname for Christopher but not on its own. Same for Xander/Alexander. I really don't like Sonny or Joss and I'm not keen on Guy.
I like Vivienne, Felicity and Lara. May, Cleo and Constance are ok. Not keen on Fleur or Joss.
My top picks would be Edward and Felicity.

Kit and Lara would be mine from your list. Kit was very nearly the name for our baby due soon but we’re in scotland and it’s hardly ever used here. While I’ve been pregnant it was as if anyone with an opinion on the name Kit was subconsciously invited to tell me about it 🤷🏼‍♀️ I obviously never mentioned to anyone about liking the name or the fact we’d basically chosen it at this point but more than one person at my work said (on different occasions) about thinking it was a girls name. Another person at work was telling me about these weird people they knew and added in to the story the fact their kids were called something and Kit. I felt like shouting I bloody well like that name!! 😂 I think there’s a big difference between attitudes like that in Scotland and England, because it’s so uncommon here but I still love it and wouldn’t rule it out if we had a second boy

Chilldonaldchill · 20/06/2021 23:12

Kit - I absolutely love this. I'm normally a fan of longer names but I think this can work as a stand alone. I'd probably personally go for Christopher or Christian on the BC though
Robin - I don't like this for a boy. It seems too feminine.
Edward - very nice, very safe
Sonny - really dislike. Seems very down-market (sorry).
Joss - I like but only as a nn for Josiah.
Joseph - nice, again very safe but pleasant
Guy - I like a lot
Xander - absolutely love

Vivienne - this seems popular on here all of a sudden. I prefer Vivien.
Felicity - gorgeous
May - I really love this as a fn
Lara - lovely
Fleur - lovely
Joss again but for a girl - not so keen, unless as a nn for Jocelyn
Cleo - nice
Constance - gorgeous

Your girls' list is lovely but other than Sonny I don't think you can go too wrong really
Kit or Xander and Felicity, May or Constance would be my picks.

Like Cleo and Constance. I like May for a child born in May, but otherwise think it is stupid. Like Vivienne.

Like Joseph, Edward, and Robin. Kit is nice but not sure generally about diminutives as actual names, though I suppose you could say the same for Cleo.

Dislike all the other boy names, particularly Guy and Xander.

Posieandpip · 20/06/2021 23:55

I love -
Kit
Joseph
Xander
Cleo
Felicity

Leeloo1233 · 21/06/2021 06:31

I love vivienne

Arrierttyclock · 21/06/2021 07:06

Guy for a boy- love this name
Fleur for a girl but Cleo a very close second

VenusClapTrap · 21/06/2021 08:50

Love Guy and Fleur

Ebee19 · 21/06/2021 10:44

Boys:
Kit - yes but also would say nickname with a different FN.
Robin - definite no
Edward - yes love
Sonny - ok (knew a sonny and his name really suited him)
Joss - definite no
Joseph - ok but quite overused
Guy - definitely not. Friend called Guy finds it infuriating as don’t know if Guy or that guy etc
Xander - I like it, quirky

Girls:
Vivienne - yes (also as a boys name)
Felicity - yes
May - yes
Lara - yes
Fleur - yes
Joss again but for a girl - not for me
Cleo - not for me
Constance (DH hates but I'm slipping it in haha!) - no (my mums back up and I hated the thought of it growing up)

Favourites are Edward (then Xander or Kit). Girls Felicity or Vivienne but first 5 lovely.

chaosrabbitland · 21/06/2021 10:46

Lara - ok, but prefer Laura or Cara
Fleur - ok, but just french for flower
Joss again but for a girl - yes if short for Josceline or Josephine
Cleo - ok
Constance (DH hates but I'm slipping it in haha!) - I like t

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 21/06/2021 18:18

I'd pick Xander & Vivienne

periwinkle86 · 21/06/2021 18:34

I love your boy list especially - you’ve got so many names on there that I love but can’t use for various reasons. Joss is my absolute favourite but doesn’t really go with our surname and DP is worried everyone will assume that we named him after the cricketer (not a problem for me!). I love Guy and Xander too, but DP has vetoed both, sadly. So these are my faves of your boy list.

For girls, I really like Lara and Vivienne from your list - another two names that we sadly can’t use!

primhutch · 21/06/2021 20:12

Love Kit

May is lovely for a first name, and spelt may. Xx

ChocolateDeficitDisorder · 21/06/2021 20:18

I like Robin and Xander (as a nickname for Alexander - would be 'Sandy' in Scotland).

I like Lara for a girl, but prefer Laura or Lorna

Sojo88 · 22/06/2021 07:20

There are some beautiful names on those lists...

Boys:
Kit - I love this
Robin - not one of my favourites
Edward - nice name
Sonny - like a lot
Joss - never heard of it, less keen
Joseph - love it
Guy - good name
Xander - not bad

Girls:
Vivienne - love it
Felicity - love it
May - love it
Lara - like a lot
Fleur - love it
Joss again but for a girl - not sure
Cleo - really love it
Constance (DH hates but I'm slipping it in haha!) - really love it

Would probably choose Kit or Cleo. Hope that helps! Smile

steppemum · 22/06/2021 07:35

Kit - I like this, but not as a full name.
Robin - really really hate this for a boy
Edward - traditional, nice but a bit meh
Sonny - totally hideous, why woudl you do this to a child
Joss - sounds like Josh with a lisp, and reminds me of Joss sticks
Joseph - nice classic, but boring
Guy - ok
Xander - again, nice, but not a full name,

Girls:
Vivienne - lovely
Felicity - lovely
May - overused, but I do have a soft spot for it
Lara - Ok
Fleur - yuck, sounds horrible
Joss again but for a girl - better for a girl, but again, not a full name, shortening of Jocelyn
Cleo - nice
Constance (DH hates but I'm slipping it in haha!) - very Victorian. unusual I guess.

steppemum · 22/06/2021 07:36

actually I take that back about Joseph. It is a good name. And not overused at the moment.

Clickbait · 22/06/2021 07:39

My favourites are:
Edward, Kit, Robin
Lara, Felicity, Constance

RestingStitchFace · 22/06/2021 07:49

Kit
Edward
Joss

Joseph a bit dull but not awful.

The only girls name I like from your list is Lara. But I do REALLY like it!

AmIPeriOrAreYouJustAnnoying · 22/06/2021 07:58
