Boys Name Help, Please?

Jes26 · 20/06/2021 07:41

Help please for my daughter and SiL, in choosing a boys name? The surname has one syllable and starting with a 'Th'. This is proving quite difficult to find names that flow off the tongue easily.

Names that have been bandied about are:
Wilbur (SiL dislikes)
Wilf (not good with surname)
Henry (DD wants something a little different)
Bodhi
Arlo (this was her blue name in first pregnancy but now too popular for her)
The likely second name will be either James or Thomas.
All help is really appreciated.

TIA

Boy names amongst ds friends that have really worked throughout their childhoods and into young adulthood = Max, Harry, Charles/Charlie, William/Will, George, Tom, Sebastian/Seb. Yes traditional but really seem to work well in all circumstances.

Agree Cameron/Cam too.

Out of curiosity, has you dd asked you to post on mn on their behalf, or are you disliking their suggestions so far? The first rule of naming your child, is not to tell anyone, as they’ll probably dislike it for various reasons!

Jes26 · 21/06/2021 08:59

Many thanks for your suggestions!
These are names they've already rejected for various reasons.

No they haven't found a name they both like ... we've all trawled the name lists... baby due any day now.

Let us know what he’s called.

Jes26 · 21/06/2021 09:15

yes all lovely names... but they've all been rejected.

I think he wants traditional and DD wants something a little bit different ie Oliver is a name she likes, but it's too popular now. the same with Harry, Jack etc
The Th of their one syllable surname makes names like Freddie or Fynn a bit tricky.

It was a baby boy and they've named him Otis Henry .

Thanks for all your suggestions... he wasn't named for the first few days, but they're really pleased with it.
