Which would you go for if you had to?

Oscar is head and shoulders above the others for me but DH says too popular. Seems so friendly and cute but can definitely see it on a man too. It is statistically popular, but we don’t know a single Oscar (baby number 3 so we know a lot of kids).

Austin - a bit too… cool…?? for us I feel, but open to your thoughts. DH likes.

Otis - I have come round to, initially felt a bit too hipster/try-hard for us. Seems kind cute, sort of Milo vibes. But is it too Aardvark ish? I know 2 local ones so maybe not too out there.

Oscar is the nicest I think. Austin reminds me of a car / Texas. Otis is ok, but feels a bit trendy. Other names which have a similar feel to me include:

I'd choose Austin. I really like it.

Oscar is too popular and it's also a common cat/dog name.

I'm not mad on Otis, but it's OK.

I like Austin best. Otis seems a bit faddy and I find Oscar rather stuffy.

Austin reminds me of Austin Powers, so no.
Otis and Milo are dog names to me, like Max. So it’s Oscar.

Absolutely! I am team Oscar.

Hmm a mixed bag of responses! Had totally forgotten that Austin was a place, add that to Powers to and I think Austin is a no go for us.

Oscar is way too popular but I much prefer it to the others.

Austin is ok in the US, here it’s Austin Metro.

Otis, is a bit trying hard to be cool. And also a bit lifty.

I don’t think either are on a par with Oscar.

I know a 60 year old Austin, he never gets anything to do with Austin powers, got a few things about the car as a young boy but nothing since. I know another in his 30s but always been known as Ozzy. DS now 20 had one in his primary class.

My grandad was an Austin. He was a farmer from Mayo. Not especially cool, although well liked at the mart

I really like them all! Really hard to choose. Oscar is quite popular but for good reason - it's a great name! Otis is really cool and would suit all ages. Austin I love and was on our short list for ds2. If I have to pick one I'd go for Austin but they are all good choices.

I do really like Otto but our Italian friend was like, it’s only used for the 8th child 😁 so now I’ve gone off it.

Oscar for definite for me.
Another name with a similar sound would be Oakley (but I prefer Oscar).

Oscar is a really lovely name. I know 4 aged between 4 and 14.
I also like Otto.
