MN for Edward

The day of the decision is coming closer :)

Which MN would you go for? (I might be overthinking)

Arthur - I really like the name, but it seems very popular at the moment
Bodhi - is it too fancy? It has a lovely meaning though
Felix - I love the meaning (the lucky one), but I fear a bit that I could be to connected with the catfood
Jonathan - is it too much 80ies style? I also love the meaning

Thoughts and suggestions are welcome :)

I was coming on to say Felix. My Edward has that as his middle name. I love it. No mention of catfood ever (by him or anyone else, although actually his middle name doesn't come up).

I'd have used it as his first name if my H had let me.

Not a huge fan of Jonathan but really like all the others.

I don't like Bodhi, but any of the other three are fine.

You don't use you middle name much as you go through life, you just want want that is not so embarrassing everyone laughs at your graduation or wedding or the other odd occasions they are spoken.

I don’t think any flow very well, tbh.
They’d all sound better the other way around. If I had to choose one I’d say
Edward Jonathan.

I do really like Edward James, yet I am afraid that there might be many children outside with exact same name, since both are popular names.

Edward is a great name but not fussed on your middle name selection.

Felix for sure! Dislike Bodhi, suddenly really popular and a bit faddy, definitely not fancy. Will date terribly. Arthur is cool but sooo popular. Don't like Jonathan much. It's fine, just a bit dated sounding.

I don’t think any of your suggestions flow particularly well . Edward James is lovely , there is a good reason why it’s a popular and that is because it is a great name combination . Middle names really don’t get used much so in the great scheme of things just pick a name you love .

I’m not sure any of them flow that well. As others have said Edward James was my first though, or maybe Edward Thomas?

Edward Jonathan - Jonathan is a lovely, classic name that is currently out of favour and is really unexpected in the middle name spot. I like an unexpected mn.

I suppose Bodhi fits this category too and whilst I like Bodhi, it's having a bit of a moment and will probably date

I always think cats when I see / hear Felix, I just can't get behind it. I do like Arthur but Edward Arthur is just a bit meh compared to the others for me.

I really appreciate the help so far. I do think with our last name, the middle names flow nicely, maybe not the best combo of all times. In general I found it a bit hard to find a MN that flows super well with Edward.

That being said, I like James but could imagine half of the Edwards go with that middle name.

@Theoldwoman I do like Sebastian and Benjamin of your name list, however Seb is a good, old friend of mine and always when I hear the name, I associate it with him, of course in a positive way, but he kind of owes the name. And I can't use Benjamin, since Ben was the name of my first love/boyfriend.
