I quite like it. I also like Jarvis.
I am stuck in the nineties though.

angelaEhen · 10/06/2021 13:01

Travis perkins, some sort of building firm. Not keen doesn't sound like a first name to me

Nahhh · 10/06/2021 13:01

Naughty and scruffy

justanotherneighinparadise · 10/06/2021 13:03

Not keen. Bit Beavis and Butthead for me.

How do you feel about this boy name?
Synchrony · 10/06/2021 13:11

It makes me think of "Ten Things I hate about you".
I quite like it.

JulietBravo999 · 10/06/2021 13:21

I know of a Travis, siblings are Kaylan and Nevaeh. Read into that what you will.

Also doesn’t work if your surname begins with T. Grin

suckingonchillidogs · 10/06/2021 13:24

Thanks Frogcorset and bimbimbap.

yumscrumfatbum · 10/06/2021 13:51

I quite like it, reminds me of the band. Strong masculine name.

Onlinedilema · 10/06/2021 17:23

Hippy, musical type with long shaggy hair.

LoopTheLoops · 10/06/2021 17:26

Not a fan, only met one though

Tillygetsit · 10/06/2021 23:09

Travis Bickle.

CanofCant · 11/06/2021 20:10

I know a 3 year old Travis and a 2 year old Jarvis. Both good names and lovely kids. Agree with the hate for non-Hooray Henry, insipid type names.

Thedogscollar · 12/06/2021 22:46

@SmallPrawnEnergy

You'll get derogatory comments on here as it's not a hooray henry type name. It doesn't fall into Middle Class safety net or unique faux hippie. I like it.
So true. Mn likes Edmund, Wilfred, Otto and Arlo. Travis doesn't fit the mould. I really quite like it. It's not chavvy at all.
Lalliella · 13/06/2021 00:51

He was the baddy in Blake’s 7

DeedledeDee · 13/06/2021 01:54

Robert de niro in Taxi Driver was called Travis

CobraChicken · 13/06/2021 02:02

I know an adult one who is an utter tool, so that puts me off, but I don't think I'd have a problem with the name if I didn't already have that association.

Posieandpip · 14/06/2021 16:07

I think of a stoned American skateboarder with scruffy blonde hair and baggy clothes who speaks really slowly and smells a bit and is either unemployed or works in a fairground.

DinaofCloud9 · 14/06/2021 16:17

Bickle.

I quite like it though.

HeronLanyon · 14/06/2021 16:35

I knew an American Travis. Think it may be used a bit differently there.
I’m not immediately fond of it. If ‘your’ Travis were lovely and I knew him then a lot of that would fall away obviously.
Silly because when I think of the sound and look of it I quite like it.

RusholmeRuffian · 14/06/2021 16:38

Blink 182 drummer

pictish · 14/06/2021 16:43

It’s ok. It’s a bit U.S.A for my personal taste but it’s certainly not awful.

Holly60 · 14/06/2021 17:02

I hate it personally. Sounds a bit (very) downmarket

Pieceofpurplesky · 14/06/2021 17:20

Not my favourite choice but for me it's the teacher's curse - I taught a horrible one.

user1493494961 · 14/06/2021 17:36

Tyler's brother.

GreyhoundG1rl · 14/06/2021 17:42

I'd put it in the Trevor, Clive, Keith, etc. camp.
I wouldn't.
