Truly

Blessy would be better as Blessing
Truly reminds me of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

Pixilicious · 07/06/2021 21:41

Truly acceptable
Blessy - Blessing is better, Blessy doesn’t mean anything

waitingpatientlyforspring · 07/06/2021 21:42

I don't mind Truly although its not my cup of tea but Blessy sounds daft.

user1493494961 · 07/06/2021 21:42

You could call yourself both names for a while to gauge reaction.

applespearslemons · 07/06/2021 21:45

Blessy: what people say when you sneeze

Truly: scrumptious. Chittagong bang bang

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 07/06/2021 22:18

Not keen on Blessy - although like pp I have heard the name Blessing before (it's okay - I can appreciate the sentiment behind it, plus she can use the nn "Bess" if she wants something better known) .

I like the sound of Truly, but like True even more (it also helps avoid the "truly scrumptious" thing).

Lemur12 · 07/06/2021 22:31

Sorry, I think they're both dreadful. Perhaps something with a similar meaning would work? E.g. Verity, Beatrix / Beatrice, Theodora, Gwyneth etc.

TedHastingsweeDonkey · 07/06/2021 22:34

They really don't sound like names to me OP. Sorry

Thedogscollar · 07/06/2021 23:19

Ridiculous springs to mind.

SingingWaffleDoggy · 07/06/2021 23:21

@applespearslemons

Blessy: what people say when you sneeze

Truly: scrumptious. Chittagong bang bang

Exactly this
DramaAlpaca · 08/06/2021 00:15

Both daft. Sorry.

BluePeterVag · 08/06/2021 00:41
Biscuit
miltonj · 08/06/2021 00:51

Really don't like blessy.
Truly is ok.

AnotherSunrise · 08/06/2021 01:02

Both awful

AnotherSunrise · 08/06/2021 01:03

They aren't proper names

custardbear · 08/06/2021 01:28

No - unless your cultural background is such that this type of name is normal, in which case Blessing nn Blessy or Truly sound fine

partyatthepalace · 08/06/2021 08:14

No, they don’t really mean anything so they are weird as names. If you want virtue names they I think you have to serve them up straight: Blessing, Hope, Constance, Honor, Faith etc - Blessing is my least favourite of these but it’s OK.

BlueDucky · 08/06/2021 08:51

I like Truly. I hate Blessy sorry. Do you like Bliss?

FrumpyBetty · 08/06/2021 08:53

Bonkers.

Trudy?

PattyPan · 08/06/2021 09:25

@applespearslemons

Blessy: what people say when you sneeze

Truly: scrumptious. Chittagong bang bang

These are my exact thoughts. It’s a no to both from me. I love Blessing though.
BloodyPalaver · 08/06/2021 09:30

...N..no.
Nice idea but wouldn't work for a LO in England.

How about Trudy or Bessie?

FelicityPike · 08/06/2021 09:32

Blessing is decent enough.
Truly less so (singing the song in my head).
Blessy......no.

loves2plan · 08/06/2021 09:38

I don't like either OP, sorry

JustanotherTuesday · 08/06/2021 09:55

I prefer Truly. It makes me think of Sister Wives, although she spells hers Truely.

Synchrony · 08/06/2021 11:14

I like Truly. It does make me think of Chitty.
I hate Blessy, it sounds like a cutesy nickname and I'd mishear it as Bessie.
