Help needed for a boy or girl

Soooo it took us 4 days to name dc1 - Monty - it looks like this upcoming baby may take even longer.
We can't agree on anything

My choices;
Sophia
Imogen
Emily

Hugo
Oliver
George - Monty's middle name

DH choices;
Amelia
Athena

Otto
Horatio

Unfortunately our baby Rosie was born sleeping early due to severe cardiac problems and other problems last year so that name cannot be used.
There are no family names we would consider.

Should also add I love the name Lottie, but DH insists it should probably be Charlotte but that doesn't work with our surname.

I like Horatio a great deal, a fab choice.
I also like Hugo.
Oliver and George are already hugely popular so I wouldn't choose them.

The same goes for Sophia, which has been in the top ten names for years, so there are already a lot of them.

My favourite from your list is Imogen.

My daughter is Imogen Emily and I’ve received so many compliments on her name! Imogen Sophia sounds lovely together.

@AdaColeman Popularity does scare me a little but at all the toddler groups i've been at recently (pre covid) there hasn't been a Sophia so far so it reassures me a little. I agree George and Oliver do seem very popular unfortunately for me.

The boys names you have suggested are mostly names given to children with we know and see regularly!

@EugeniaGrace I love the majority of the girls names you have suggested, I will show to DH later but I feel he will only say no. 2 of your boys names are very similar/same to DH name so they are out, the others we have a couple of friends children with the same names, I have always liked Arlo but I am not 100% convinced at the moment.

Athena and Otto are lovely and the only two I like. Definitely not Amelia 🤢 'uh mealy uh'. Ugliest name.

Monty and Imogen or monty and hugo

Love Imogen but I’m biased because I have an Imogen Evangeline. I also like Hugo & Horatio.

I like all your choices -- other than Otto, which sounds to me like the name of a fat SS officer. Maybe I've just seen too many WWII series.

Imogen and Hugo are my favourites, but the rest are lovely too.

The mega popularity of Amelia, Sophia, Emily and Charlotte would put me off, nice though they are.

I like Imogen and Athena. Then other girls names are too popular. Monty is cool and uncommon, need a similar name for his (potential) sister. I'd pair Monty with:
Iris, Nancy, Joy, Cassia, Elspeth.

Of the boy's names, I love Hugo. How about Rory, Sidney, Edward, Rudy, Louis, Barney? I'd definitely pair Barney and Monty, they sound great together!

Otto is cool but makes me think of that poor boy who died after being arrested in North Korea. Horatio is too much.
