Middle Name Dilemma

Brendan2002 · 05/06/2021 19:08

Hi Everyone!
I am an 18 year old trans boy currently asking for help to settle on a set of middle names as I like having opinions of those outside of my family and friends for an outsider’s perspective.
Thanks to so many people’s suggestions and help, I have decided to choose the name Phoenix to pair with my chosen first name, Brendan.
However, I am looking into acquiring another middle name as my birth name has two. I would love to receive opinions on the following names and would love to hear some of your suggestions as well!

Brendan Phoenix Adam
Brendan Gavin Phoenix
Brendan Phoenix John
Brendan Azriel Phoenix
Brendan Phoenix Abel
Brendan Anthony Phoenix

It may be worth mentioning that I’m from England, so names that I tend to prefer often reflect that.
Thanks for all your help!

What does your surname start with and how many syllables?

Brendan2002 · 05/06/2021 19:23

It starts with an R and is 2 syllables Smile

Why not Phoenix as a first name?

MrsTerryPratchett · 05/06/2021 19:37

Better to have two names you love than three names you're meh about.

MrsTerryPratchett · 05/06/2021 19:38

And you have all classic/biblical names then Gavin. Why Gavin?

Brendan2002 · 05/06/2021 20:36

I hadn't noticed that! It just so happens that I like these names so Gavin just happened to be the odd one out Smile

That either means Gavin is the name or Gavin is a terrible idea.

What about Gawain? Knight of the round table (and not Gavin!).

Brendan Gavin Phoenix
Brendan Adam Phoenix
Brendan Anthony Phoenix

I like these ones best and for some reason I like the way the Phoenix sounds as the 3rd name.

Brendan Phoenix Abel would be my vote. Has a nice flow and I like the rhythm as all have 2 syllables. Try writing them all out and saying them aloud to see if you prefer any. Good luck choosing.

Tillygetsit · 05/06/2021 22:45

I think you need a 3 or 4 syllable name otherwise they're all 2 and it sounds a bit stompy.
Of your choices, Brendan Anthony Phoenix sounds great or how about
Brendan Alexander Phoenix
Brendon Gregory Phoenix
Brendan Zachary Phoenix (this is my fave!)

Brendan Phoenix Gabriel?

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 05/06/2021 23:21

do watch what the initials add up to

Anything starting with "A" as a 2nd name will create BAP. it's not bad but you might not like it.

I have this feeling that if you like your hair long Samson could be a great choice.

I also like Magnus, Jethro, Arlo

AbstractHeart · 06/06/2021 19:49

@Brendan2002

It starts with an R and is 2 syllables Smile
In that case I think you should keep 2 syllables throughout and take John and Asriel off your list
diddlediddle · 06/06/2021 21:12

I guess it depends what you want from the second middle name really. Phoenix seems a symbolic choice. How did you choose Brendan? Do you want a classic male name in there to balance out the other two names? Do you want a meaningful name, and/or perhaps a family name or something related to one of your birth names to keep a connection there? Or the opposite? Do you want the names to flow or do you not mind? I think the comment about initials is valid, you may not want BAP. Good luck.
