Probably going to use Jane or Elizabeth as a middle name (family) but we have the following first names on a shortlist for DC2 due soon.
Any help appreciated!

Violet
Ivy
Alice
Eleanor
Grace

I love Alice and Grace.
I'd go with Grace Elizabeth.

sunkiss · 02/06/2021 19:06

I like Ivy Jane

pilates · 02/06/2021 19:15

Eleanor Jane
They are all lovely names except Ivy

ladygindiva · 02/06/2021 19:17

Eleanor Elizabeth are my two favourites and run together surprisingly well.
But I like all of them!

AnyaMoondial · 02/06/2021 19:17

Eleanor Jane is my favourite.

wanderedlonelyasacloud · 02/06/2021 19:19

Alice and Ivy are my favourites! Both go really well with Elizabeth imo.

Violet also nice, Eleanor is ok but I dont like Grace

DalPalak · 02/06/2021 19:19

Eleanor with either middle name is lovely.

wouldukissafrog · 02/06/2021 19:21

Ivy Jane or violet Elizabeth.

DotDotDotDotDot · 02/06/2021 19:26

I’d go Violet Elizabeth or Ivy Elizabeth. Not keen on Eleanor, although I like Elena. Nickname Ellie/Ella is a bit boring. Iris Elizabeth would also be nice. Good luck.

S00tired · 02/06/2021 19:29

Eleanor or Alice

sibbys · 02/06/2021 22:22

Alice! Love that name 🥰

Tillygetsit · 02/06/2021 22:44

Alice Elizabeth is lovely.

Hohofortherobbers · 02/06/2021 22:58

Alice Elizabeth

dottiedaisee · 02/06/2021 23:06

Alice Elizabeth

partyatthepalace · 02/06/2021 23:35

They are all nice, all pretty popular

I Eleanor is probably used the least used right now so I’d go with Eleanor Jane

bubblebath62636 · 02/06/2021 23:39

Alice is getting quite popular now, as is Violet and Ivy.

Grace is beautiful.

MojoJojo71 · 02/06/2021 23:51

Eleanor Jane would be my choice. I also really like Jane Eleanor which was my grandmother’s name, although she was mostly called Jenny

Luckingfovely · 03/06/2021 00:00

Alice Elizabeth all the way!

DrunkenKoala · 03/06/2021 18:27

Eleanor Jane or Grace Elizabeth

KirstenBlest · 03/06/2021 18:36

Violet Elizabeth is by far the best

Raindropumbrella · 03/06/2021 18:40

Eleanor Jane!

daisypond · 03/06/2021 18:41

Either Eleanor, Grace or Alice.
Not Violet or Ivy

Squeakerfoot · 03/06/2021 22:48

You have a very nice shortlist. I particularly like Alice, Eleanor and Violet. I think Alice Elizabeth is my favourite.

Violet Elizabeth is a character in the Just William stories who has a lisp and is very spoilt, so I would avoid that combination!

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 04/06/2021 01:28

I'd choose based on what goes best with the surname rather than the middle names (both of which are lovely btw!).

But Alice and Eleanor are particularly elegant and classic imo (and Eleanor has the benefit of a half dozen nickname choices if she wants as well).

Grace is also nice enough (it just feels very commonplace because it's currently so well used as a middle name too).

But I think Ivy and Violet will date quite badly - both have hugely surged in popularity in the last 10/15 years (as they are part of two name trends - retro and botanical).

All really lovely names although Alice and Violet are my favourites. Ivy Jane is a really lovely combo. I'd personally want to avoid Violet Elizabeth (Bott).
