We're booked in for an cesarean on 21st June.
We don't know the babys gender but are still stuck on boys names so thinking something to do with sun/summer/light kind of meaning might give us a bit of inspiration?

Summer seems the obvious for a girl.

I'd use the midsummer reference as a middle name. Those I know with names that say when they were born say they don't like it.

Saladd0dger · 02/06/2021 10:15

Ahh how lovely op! I love solstice.

Amelia666 · 02/06/2021 10:19

Summer would be a beautiful name for a solstice girl.

KibeththeWalker · 02/06/2021 10:21

Leto means summer in a variety of languages. Vara is summer in Romanian.

They'd make nice m/f middle names I think. Maybe not first name.

I have a summer solstice baby (now 14 though). We didn't know he would be a solstice baby and had already chosen a name so didn't give him a related name, but only yesterday had a conversation about him being a sun god and that we should have named him Apollo. Which a lot more exciting than his actual name!

I have a winter solstice baby and another winter solstice baby on the way. I was really considering the name solstice

Lucien means light.

partyatthepalace · 02/06/2021 23:44

Lucian or Lucy (Lucienne etc) for light
Juno
Theia, Freya, Aine, Sulis, Olwen - goddesses of light in Greece, Scandinavia and around Britain.

Summer I think is a bit downmarket these days so I would only use as a middle name, Sunshine is cute as a middle name (also I think these names are too much pressure to be sunny), Solana could be a middle name, Or June. Think Solstice is Going Too Far.

Ray
Luke
August
Cyrus
Samson

I adore Lucien. Lucien Apollo would be amazing

How about the Italian Elio for a boy? (derived from the name of the Ancient Greek Sun God Helios).

Lots of choice for girls - less common ones might be Sunniva (Old English/Scandi name meaning "sun gift") or Tesni (Welsh name meaning "warmth from the sun")
