Beatrice always lovely if bit overused

Orla is OK prefer Oona or Hona

Don’t like the other two: Althea - lispy - Anthes is a bit better, Athena much better
Amorette - nooo, sounds like the sort of sickly licure

partyatthepalace · 31/05/2021 01:38

Liqueur!

partyatthepalace · 31/05/2021 01:38

Honor!

alexdgr8 · 31/05/2021 01:41

Beatrice is ok
Althea is nice.
don't really like Orla, too short.

no no no to amorette, sounds like a porn star.

WildCherryBlossom · 31/05/2021 04:02

Orla is very pretty.

Althea - one of my DC needed quite a lot of speech and language therapy when little. We met a girl in our sessions called Althea and she struggled so much to say her own name. I appreciate it's not the trickiest name out there but always reminds me of her and people assuming she was trying to say Alicia.

Amorette - isn't that a range of bras by Triumph?

Beatrice - it's ok, never warmed to it particularly but I know a lot of people like it

romdowa · 31/05/2021 04:10

Orla and Beatrice are my favourites. If you wanted to avoid the oral association with orla, you could spell it the Irish way , which I think is orlaith.

GinAndTonicOnIt · 31/05/2021 04:55

Thanks all, I think Amorette is now definitely out...

Posieandpip · 31/05/2021 07:23

Love Beatrice!

Don't like the others.

xprincessxjanetx · 31/05/2021 17:10

I like Orla a lot, Beatrice I am less keen on but I think Orla Beatrice sounds beautiful. Unfortunately I dislike the other two names.

KirstenBlest · 31/05/2021 18:07

Orla - boring
Althea - don't like
Amorette - sounds like a contraceptive
Beatrice - nice

User629202 · 31/05/2021 18:13

Orla - tainted for me because I knew one who was a real dickhead Grin

Althea - pretty, maybe a bit old fashioned?

Amorette - no, sounds like the liqueur. Not nice.

Beatrice - lovely and unusual. Definitely my favourite.

Synchrony · 31/05/2021 22:38

Althea
Beatrice/Orla
Amorette. I'm afraid I'm another person who thought "porn star".

Holly60 · 31/05/2021 22:46

I only really like Beatrice. Amorette reminds me of biscuits and Orla is overdone. Althea reminds me of Anthea

Holly60 · 31/05/2021 22:47

But yes really like Beatrice

Anotherhill · 31/05/2021 22:49

Beattice or Orla for me too

GloomyWaters · 31/05/2021 22:53

Orla reminds me of a school friend she was lovely think it's irish but my favourite is Beatrice I avsolutely love the name

ElizabethTudor · 31/05/2021 22:56

Beatrice. But I prefer Beatrix, as I think it looks and sounds better.
I don’t like any of the others, sorry.

ZednotZee · 31/05/2021 22:56

Althea

Beatrice.

I don't like the other two.

floridapalmtree · 31/05/2021 22:58

Orla

sorry, not keen on the other names

RulesRulesRulesRulesRules · 31/05/2021 23:01

Beatrice is the only one I like.

MonsterJammin · 31/05/2021 23:04

Definitely Orla, although I'd spell it differently. It would have been DS1 name if he'd been a girl. Not keen on the others but do like Thea rather than Althea.

C0nstance · 31/05/2021 23:07

I like them all but not Amorette. I agree that is too like amaretti

miltonj · 31/05/2021 23:09

Love Althea. Lots of possibilities for shortenings. Don't like orla or amorette. I do like Beatrice but I'm hearing it a lot recently, so it depends if you're bothered about popularity.

AlwaysLatte · 31/05/2021 23:47

Beatrice first, followed reluctantly by Orla. The others sound like drinks...
