Marco or Marcus

Hi ladies,
I’m currently pregnant with my third boy and would greatly appreciate opinions on the names Marco and Marcus. My partners family are Italian, therefore we think either would suit. My other two boys are Xander and Torin so I want something a little different to go well. We just can’t decide which we prefer. Other name suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance, ladies 😃

I prefer Marcus. Marcoos would not be hard for an italian to say

GintyMcGinty · 29/05/2021 18:19

Marcus

Cuntryhouse · 29/05/2021 18:21

I think Marco goes with your other names, but Marcus is really nice. Only the cool, good looking boys were called Marcus. But that was the 90s.

Enough4me · 29/05/2021 18:21

Marcus

Marcus

duckoutofwater · 29/05/2021 21:12

Marcus, definitely. Would've used it for DS2 but turned out to be DD.

CliftonGreenYork · 29/05/2021 21:22

Marcus for sure - Marco sounds like an Italian actor from an 1990s soap.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 29/05/2021 22:05

Marcus is very nice imo - underused yet well known. Marco is okay but sounds a bit more stereotypically/strongly Italian compared to your other boys names to me.

DramaAlpaca · 29/05/2021 22:11

I really like Marcus, Marco not so much.

Serpenta · 29/05/2021 22:13

Marcus sounds strong and assured. Marco is okay but Marcus pips it for me.

Happycat1212 · 29/05/2021 22:30

Love Marcus

cariadlet · 29/05/2021 22:35

I've always hated Marcus but love Marco. I don't know why because, objectively, they're very similar.

Maybe because Marco sounds Italian (which works as your dp's family is Italian) and Marcus makes me think of someone posh and arrogant.

Lemur12 · 29/05/2021 23:12

Marco I think. Sounds more Italian and less 90s.

Tillygetsit · 29/05/2021 23:12

I have only ever met delicious men called Marcus. I much prefer it.

Jelly4444 · 29/05/2021 23:19

Marcus is lovely. Not at all fond of Marco.

Love your other children's names. Torin, in particular, is gorgeous. 😍

BackforGood · 29/05/2021 23:25

Before reading your opening post, I was going to say Marcus.

Bur with your dh's Italian heritage, and the names of your other dc, I think Marco would be great.

MaMelon · 29/05/2021 23:29

Marcus definitely

ofwarren · 29/05/2021 23:32

Marcus

BelgianWaffles · 29/05/2021 23:36

Marcus!

Lemonlemon88 · 30/05/2021 00:40

I prefer Marco to Marcus.

I know one marcus and he is always known as Marc.

Other suggestions are Milo, Max, Hugo or Jonty.

waveajay · 30/05/2021 06:33

Marcus

TatianaBis · 30/05/2021 06:49

Marco by miles. Partly due to Italian heritage, but also it’s just nicer.

Marcus is very snotty and a bit wet.

Geamhradh · 30/05/2021 07:45

Both will work with your background and your other names as Marcus is the Latin form of Marco.
