Naming Twins Is Hard

MaggieMoonpie · 26/05/2021 00:55

Hello, me and my partner are expecting twins, in about three months from now, and we are team green. We have compiled a names of list we like, and middle names are most likely going be Annemarie (if they're both girls, we're planning on splitting the name to Anne and Marie). For boys; Otto and Dean. And here are the names we've agreed on:
Girls:
Gabrielle
Camille
Odette
Juliana
Rosemary
Briar-Rose
Genevieve

Boys:
Sebastian
Archibald
Julien
Felix
Jackson
Joseph
Gabriel
Camille

Any suggestions are welcomed! Thank you! - June, and Patrick

I didn't get the team green ref, sorry
But from your names I love Gabrielle and Camille
Joseph and Gabriel (assuming you don't use Gabrielle)

SoapboxFox · 26/05/2021 07:55

Gabrielle Anne and Juliana Marie
Rosemary Anne and Genevieve Marie

Sebastian Dean and Julien Otto
Gabriel Dean and Felix Otto

Gabrielle Marie and Joseph Otto
Coralie Anne and Felix Joseph
Rosemary Camille and Sebastian Felix

SamMil · 26/05/2021 07:59

No idea what team green means but I like:

Girls - Gabrielle & Camille
Boys - Felix and Sebastian

EssentialHummus · 26/05/2021 08:01

Presumably op means they’re not finding out in advance what they are having (sometimes called “team yellow”).

I like most of your names, except Briar-Rose for a girl (perhaps just Rose?), and definitely not Camille for a boy.

Justanotherday3 · 26/05/2021 08:01

What is team green?

blameitonthecaffeine · 26/05/2021 08:12

Is Green your surname? I love Geneveive and Gabriel but not sure about the GG thing. I think it would be fine to have one G name but maybe not two?

From your list I'd therefore go with:
Genevieve Anne and Juliana Marie
Genevieve Annmarie and Felix Dean
Gabriel Otto and Felix Dean

Not sure if you wanted suggestions of combinations or suggestions of other names. If you wanted other names, how about:

Arabella, Araminta, Aurelia, Beatrice, Charlotte, Cassandra, Delilah, Elizabeth, Evangeline, Eleanor, Felicity, Francesca, Georgina, Henrietta, Hermione, Isabella, Isadora, Juliette, Josephine, Katherine, Louisa, Lilianna, Madeleine, Miranda, Natalia, Natasha, Octavia, Ophelia, Persephone, Philippa, Penelope, Rebecca, Rhiannon, Rosalie, Sophia, Sylvia, Tabitha, Tamara, Victoria, Vanessa

Arthur, Albert, Benedict, Christian, Dominic, Edward, Elliot, Fergus, Gregory, Harrison, Henry, Ivan, Josiah, Jeremy, Louis, Nicholas, Nathaniel, Owen, Patrick, Quentin, Raphael, Rory, Solomon, Thomas, Victor, Vincent, William, Xavier, Zachary

MaggieMoonpie · 26/05/2021 08:20

@Justanotherday3 @blameitonthecaffeine Means we're not finding out the sex until they're born, and the last name is Power

blameitonthecaffeine · 26/05/2021 08:27

Ah ok, sorry. In that case, I think I might choose Genevieve Annmarie and Gabriel Dean as the girl-boy option

denverRegina · 26/05/2021 08:42

Team green?

Gabrielle and Joseph are the only names I like on your list

ILoveShula · 26/05/2021 08:51

Call them both Camille, or Gabriel and Gabrielle.

ILoveShula · 26/05/2021 09:17

Most of the names are long. if you are planning on calling them by their names, might you end up shortening the names. I don't think I'd want to keep saying 'Juliana and Archibald', so they'll end up being 'the Twins'.

Girls:
Gabrielle - ok but a bit 1970s
Camille - Kam-eel or Kam-ee?
Odette - don't like. Oh Debt.
Juliana - don't like. Julia is much nicer
Rosemary - ok
Briar-Rose - too long, will be Bri or Briar
Genevieve - not keen

Boys:
Sebastian don't like
Archibald don't like
Julien don't like at all
Felix - ok
Jackson - no
Joseph - like
Gabriel - don't like
Camille - will be assumed to be a girl

bridgetreilly · 26/05/2021 09:44

Rosemary and Felix.

Sebastian and Felix.

Rosemary and Camilla.

emmathedilemma · 26/05/2021 10:01

I assume you know if they're identical or not? i.e. will they both be the same sex or could they be different?
You've got an eclectic mix of names on your list! Based on the ones I like:

Camille & Odette
Juliana & Rosemary
Genevieve & Odette
Rosemary & Odette

Sebastian & Archibald
Felix & Archibald
Joseph & Felix
Joseph & Sebastian

Happycat1212 · 26/05/2021 11:01

When did it change to green? I thought it was called t
Team yellow When you’re not finding out

ElizabethTudor · 26/05/2021 11:08

2 girls :
Camille Marie & Odette Anne

2 boys :
Felix Otto & Gabriel Dean

Girl & Boy :
Camille Marie & Gabriel Otto

Congrats!

The4ks · 26/05/2021 11:09

Your husband is Paddy Power? What a fantastic name!

I love Sebastian and Gabriel and Gabrielle and Rosemary. Congratulations!

The4ks · 26/05/2021 11:10

Oh and Gabrielle and Sebastian for boy /girl

Stevearnottsbeard · 26/05/2021 11:17

Camille on both lists?! 🤔 I thought it was a girls name
Girls:
Gabrielle- love but seems to much with Anne-Marie, gabrielle Anne or gabrielle Marie are nice
Camille- nice
Odette- really don't like
Juliana- quite like
Rosemary- nice but doesn't go with marie
Briar-Rose- don't like
Genevieve- not sure

Boys:
Sebastian- really like
Archibald- like archie
Julien- bit of a wet name to me
Felix- don't like
Jackson-surname
Joseph-love
Gabriel- quite like it
Camille- see very first comment
I would have Gabrielle Marie and sabastian Dean.
Gabrielle Marie and camille anne
Sabastian Dean and Joseph otto

Stevearnottsbeard · 26/05/2021 11:19

Don't know why my phone auto changed to Sebastian to sabastian 🙈

TatianaBis · 26/05/2021 11:31
  • Gabrielle & Camille.

Love Briar but Briar-Rose definitely not - twee fairy tale double-barrelling.

  • Sebastian & Gabriel (love)

Def not Jackson - very Essex.

  • If mixed - Sebastian and Gabriella.
Chilldonaldchill · 26/05/2021 11:39

Gabrielle - lovely. Slightly prefer Gabriella just because in some accents Gabrielle can sound quite rough at the end
Camille - gorgeous
Odette - it's ok. I think I'd think "oh how lovely and refreshing" if I heard it on a child but I can't imagine using it
Juliana - it's ok. Feels a bit fussy.
Rosemary - nice
Briar-Rose - sorry but this seems so tacky next to your other choices
Genevieve - I love this but it's so much nicer when pronounced the French way that I slightly struggle with it

Boys:
Sebastian - gorgeous
Archibald - ok.
Julien - I like Julian. Spelling it with the e would be annoying I think
Felix - gorgeous
Jackson - this is the Briar-Rose of your boys' list. Jack is loads better.
Joseph - nice.
Gabriel - gorgeous

Two girls: Camille and Odette but I would pick Camille and Gabriella if I could.

Two boys: Sebastian and Gabriel but would happily switch Felix in for either.

Boy/girl: Sebastian and Camille.

bluechameleon · 26/05/2021 12:09

Genevieve Annemarie and Sebastian Otto.
Genevieve Marie and Rosemary Anne.
Sebastian Otto and Gabriel Dean.

ILoveShula · 26/05/2021 12:45

Briar-Rose Annemarie is too much.

Briar and Rose are both roses. Hyphenated names are naff and you would have it next to joined name, also naff.

Is the surname hyphenated?

Hufflepuffsunite · 26/05/2021 12:47

I like Sebastian and Felix for boys.
Odette and Rosemary for girls.
B/G: Sebastian and Rosemary.

RickiTarr · 26/05/2021 12:50

@Justanotherday3

What is team green?
It’s an eccentric new way of saying “we don’t know the sex of the baby/ies yet”.
