It’s a lovely name but I think the Lyn/line sound going straight into the L sound doesn’t work

RuthW · 14/05/2021 12:21

I would put another name inbetween that doesn't end in ne

Adeline Felicity Lorraine
Adeline Rosemary Lorraine
Adeline Ruby Lorraine

For example

Corinna Lorraine?
Fiona Lorraine?
Zoe Lorraine?

ILoveShula · 14/05/2021 13:10

Use Lorraine as a first name nn Lainey.

Serpenta · 14/05/2021 13:13

I wouldn't get hung up on finding a name that 'goes' especially well with Lorraine. Better to pick a first name you love and just stick 'em together. If Adeline is the name you love you should go for it. Adeline Lorraine sounds absolutely fine.

LakeShoreD · 14/05/2021 13:20

I agree to not get hung up on finding a name that ‘goes’! It’s quite rare for anyone to say the full name so it really doesn’t matter that much. Lorraine is a lovely tribute to your nan and as long as the initials don’t spell anything rude then it will be fine with whatever first name you pick, including Adeline which is lovely by the way.

daisypond · 14/05/2021 13:27

Just pick whichever first name you like. It doesn’t have to go with a middle name. They are rarely said together. More important that it goes with the surname.

Adela Lorraine?

MissyB1 · 14/05/2021 13:45

Hmmm not sure it flows very well.

Adele Lorraine sounds better.

ILoveShula · 14/05/2021 14:00

Agree with pp. Pick a name that goes with the surname.

Middle names are rarely used unless the first and last name are very common.

Regularsizedrudy · 14/05/2021 14:07

What about Ada or Aderice?

Jokat · 14/05/2021 14:16

Rhea Lorraine.

1Hazel1 · 14/05/2021 14:22

I'd use Lorraine as the first name - it must be due a comeback :)

MercyBodle · 14/05/2021 14:37

If Adeline is the name you love then Adeline Lorraine works fine.

Sophia Lorraine
Cleo Lorraine
Zara Lorraine
Annie Lorraine
Flora Lorraine
Phoebe Lorraine
Juniper Lorraine
Susannah Lorraine

A friend of mine wanted Lorraine as middle name for the same reason, and went for Raine rather than Lorraine in the end as it was easier to match - Adeline Raine sounds good!

Edenember · 15/05/2021 13:47

I like Adela Lorraine, although don’t necessarily think it goes any better. If you love Adeline Lorraine, go for it. Or there’s Adelia, Adelina.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 15/05/2021 21:33

Adeline Lorraine sounds fine to me - plus you won't be saying the middle name on a daily basis and it's not much of a tongue twister anyway. The main thing to check is that Adeline sounds okay with your surname , and that you are happy with the pronunciation of Adeline (most people will say Ad -eh - line like the film/the name Caroline , but a few may say Ad- eh -leen or Ad -eh -lyn).

DramaAlpaca · 16/05/2021 03:07

Adeline Lorraine sounds just fine to me.

Angelmonkey · 16/05/2021 09:53

Ariadne Lorraine

Scarby9 · 16/05/2021 09:58

How often does anyone say your first and middle names aloud together, OP? How often do you say anyone else's?
Go for the names you like.

jclm · 16/05/2021 15:51

Heidi Lorraine?
