not for a baby

Im changing my name and just wanted some help and loads of people recommended here. Sorry if this isnt allowed though and ill delete it.

So far i like William, Frederick, Tristan and Joseph. Can you give me your opinions if possible or give suggestions. My brothers are Dylan and Darrell if that helps but id rather not have a D name.

Thanks.

I think if it's your name you need to go with the one that comes most naturally to you.

KirstenBlest · 07/05/2021 20:34

Do you like anything that is a bit like your current name?
Like if you are currently Karl or Charlotte you could be called Charles instead.

Twizbe · 07/05/2021 20:38

Personally I love Frederick.

Call yourself each name in the mirror and see which feels best.

My birth name begins woth J so Joseph is probably the closest. Thats probably the only one near my name that i like other than Josiah

William is the most classic with some amazing namesakes if that matters to you (it's never been out of the top 100, so people won't be able to guess your age just from the name).

You've also got to consider the nn's. Tristan could get the full version but the others will likely get shortened. Do you prefer Will/Billy, Fred/Freddie or Joe/Joey?

KirstenBlest · 07/05/2021 20:41

William, Frederick, Tristan and Joseph will be Will, Fred, Tris and Joe once people know you.

Yeah, ive thought about nicknames because my birth name had 3. I love all nicknames of these, so would probably let others just call me whatever they were comfortable with.

Are you being ironic? Will (I will, a last will) or Willy are probably the worst nicknames...!

Op, I really like Frederick and Tristan! Or how about Thomas or Cassius?

Violetlavenders · 08/05/2021 11:42

Oh sorry about my comment. I misread namesake for nickname Blush

partyatthepalace · 08/05/2021 13:34

Tristan is quite a flavour, I think the other 3 will be easier to take on. If you are J now then I would go for Joseph if you like it, that will probably be the easiest change

Flymetothestars · 08/05/2021 16:58

Love Tristan

angharadrose · 08/05/2021 21:31

I think Freddie on it's own looks nice instead of Fredrick Smile
