Lochlann is the only one I'd personally consider.
I'd probably spell it with one n.

emmathedilemma · 07/05/2021 10:46

Where are you based? I'm guessing you're a fan of water!
None of them are my taste but I like Lochlann the best (although is it not Lochlan?). I prefer Lachlan to Lochlann. Cillian will bring up pronunciation issues.
Firth is just a bit strange for me to use as a name.

Violetlavenders · 07/05/2021 10:46

My favourite is Lorcan.

MaverickDanger · 07/05/2021 10:48

Love your names. We have a Lachlan (I prefer the Irish spelling though).

Civilian is on the list if we have another boy.

I also love Finnian & Cormac.

Violetlavenders · 07/05/2021 10:48

I know a Cillian who's not had any pronunciation problems. Kill ee an.

DotDotDotDotDot · 07/05/2021 10:57

I like Cillian from your list, lovely name. I don’t think you’ll have too much pronunciation issues even in the UK. I think it’s becoming much more well known now thanks to Cillian Murphy. Maybe Fintan or Conall for other suggestions?

WillowSky · 07/05/2021 11:00

I am northern Irish 👍 lochlann is the Irish spelling. I believe it is pronounced lough/luck-lann versus lack-lan for lachlan.

I worry slightly for cillian pronunciation issues as well if encountered outside of Ireland..also it rhymes with Lillian so I wonder if a little feminine.

I also like finnian (but have a good friend who has a son called this) and cormac. I also like Conri (means wolf King ❤️). I find name decisions incredibly tough. Wish they would come with a birth cert like cabbage patch dolls 🤣

Cillian

emmathedilemma · 07/05/2021 11:57

ah ok, i was definitely getting celtic vibes from your list! Isn't it Lochlann as it lock?
Cormac and Conri are good!

MooseMoose · 07/05/2021 12:43

Cillian, by a mile. I live in England and know one - no pronunciation issues.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 07/05/2021 20:46

I really like Cormac!

sarah13xx · 07/05/2021 21:19

I’m a teacher and know a really lovely Lochlann so that sways me towards it ☺️ Cillian is nice too

Thewinterofdiscontent · 08/05/2021 01:26

I know a Lockie and he’s a feral nightmare. Cillian is a cool name.

MercyBodle · 08/05/2021 08:33

I like them all, but think Lochlann is my favourite.

finallychangedmyusername · 08/05/2021 09:07

Lorcan is lovely.

LizzieAnt · 08/05/2021 18:45

I love Lochlann, Lorcan, Cillian and Cormac OP.
You may have pronunciation issues with Lochlann as many people are more used to Lachlan (I much prefer Lochlann though). As you've mentioned it, I think the r in Lorcan and Cormac could cause them to be mispronounced in many parts of the UK (as the r's won't be pronounced), but you're fine in Northern Ireland. Lovely names.

Cressie2 · 08/05/2021 19:33

Lorcan

Ellmau · 08/05/2021 19:55

Lorcan.

ladygindiva · 08/05/2021 20:06

I love Lorcan! I only know one, about 8 yrs old. It's a great name.

partyatthepalace · 08/05/2021 21:17

Lorcan is great
I like Lochlan but will get mistaken for Lachlan all the flipping time
Cillian will get pronounced wrong in the UK
Firth is bad-weird
If you like water-y themed names then Fenn??
