Expecting our second son next week! We've really struggled to choose a name for him but have got it down to a top 5.

Wanted something not too popular but not too out-there! He will be little brother to Jensen.

Which name should we go for? And what are your thoughts on them all?

Jago! My Jago is 18 and gorgeous but I may be biased! No one has trouble pronouncing it either.
Jensen & Jago are similar mind

Chamonixshoopshoop · 06/05/2021 22:55

Jude or Felix are lovely ☺️

JemimaJoy · 07/05/2021 00:04

Felix or Brody! Jude is cool but so many of them! Jago is cool but I think you need to be very posh to pull it off, are you very posh? Dylan is nice but very different vibe to Jensen imo. But like Felix and Brody is nice, and goes best with Jensen!

NameChangedForThisFeb21 · 07/05/2021 00:10

I really like Jago. It’s refreshing. Bored sick of Jude.

PoorEliza · 07/05/2021 00:28

I have a Jago! It's a grower 😊 people generally dislike the name...think about it a bit...then decide they love it 😍

jobbyjg · 07/05/2021 00:38

I know lots of little judes so to popular a name for my Dylan is lovely

KaleSlayer · 07/05/2021 01:45

I know a very cool Brody so I’d go with that.

Gothichouse40 · 07/05/2021 01:59

Seriously considering lumbering a child with Jago!!!! Im sorry children have to go to school with their name, and grow old with their name. Where I live, a child's life would be made a complete misery with a ridiculous name like Jago. Sorry but you did ask.

BettyUnderswoob · 07/05/2021 03:34

This is so not like me but I like them all!
Brodie would have to be spelt like that, though (i.e. with an ie!) However I would be worried about the cat food connection with Felix, lovely though it is.

I actually really like Jago!

ThatIsMyPotato · 07/05/2021 04:34

Dylan. Hate the others sorry.

MercyBodle · 07/05/2021 05:25

I love Felix and Jago, but wouldn't use another J name (so cross off Jago and Jude), so Felix becomes the easy winner for me!

sarah13xx · 07/05/2021 08:52

Felix is lovely but Jude does go nice with Jensen 🤷🏼‍♀️

VenusClapTrap · 07/05/2021 09:09

I love Jago and Jude. I know lots of people who have siblings with the same initial, and it isn’t a problem at all.

Lolo20 · 07/05/2021 09:22

Thanks for all these opinions everyone :) Like them all for different reasons so interesting to see how people perceive the names. Felix is my husband's favourite, I like Jude best but he's not keen. Will let you know what we go with!

Why is it a ridiculous name?

It’s a family name in mine. Been used for centuries with my relatives. It’s both Spanish (linked to Iago, Santiago) and Cornish. You’ve just made yourself sound extremely ignorant, I’m afraid.
It’s a perfectly normal name. Like Jacob, Jake, Jack, Jay. There’s kids out there named Teddy, Bear, Blue, Ryder etc. I don’t see why a centuries old name that’s rooted in the tradition of the British isles is particularly problematic or ridiculous.

Dislike Brody, would choose either Jago or Jude.

Gothichouse40 · 07/05/2021 19:45

Gullible, thats ok, you know there is a long tradition of the name. Where I stay a child's life would be made a complete and utter misery with a name like Jago. Personally, I do not like the name but I admit, I could have been a little more tactful in the way I put this. I do apologise.

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 07/05/2021 19:48

Felix is the best.
I can’t stand heyjude/Jude the obscure. Too many people using it too.

How odd! Confused

Are children especially badly brought up where you are from or something? It’s really not a weird name at all. Jago. Like a pp
said it’s really not that different to Jacob. “Jay-go” It’s also in the same vein as Jude and Jensen (although as I’ve said I really dislike Jude). Personally not liking a name is fine but to suggest a child’s life will be made an utter misery because they have a perfectly acceptable name that you just don’t like is very unfair. It’s not like she’s called him “Binlid” or “Wonki” or something. I can’t imagine anywhere where Jago would considered weird and terrible. Where on earth do you live?

It’s a fab name. Definitely my favourite OP.

Serin · 08/05/2021 00:00

Jude and Jago, Great.
Felix and Dylan, Ok, a bit Meh
Brody, really don't like this.

Saltyslug · 08/05/2021 00:13

Felix or jago

Sandgrown1970 · 08/05/2021 00:14

I think Jago would actually fit in really well with all the Hugos and Arlos that are so popular now, whilst also being distinct. It’s a very cool name. And I live near Blackpool and have worked in some extremely rough schools. I’ve not met a kid who has been teased over their name. We’ve moved on from the classes full of Olivias and Jacks now and names are far more likely to be diverse and often “yoonique”. O names are popular now - as well as the Arlos and Hugos, I know a baby Giorgio and a little Matteo. And there’s the never ending load of Theos too. So Jago is bang on trend.

Dylan is sweet but a little bland.

Jude is terribly overused and is the Ava/Evie of today.

Felix is a great name. Very different from Jensen though. I love the meaning “happy”.

Brody/Brodie...reminds me of Homeland and very American sounding. I don’t mind it but it’s not half as cool as Jago.

Gothichouse40 · 08/05/2021 02:10

Gullible, Ive already apologised and really feel there is not much more I can say. It is not a common name where I am from and I live in an area that can be quite rough. Ive obviously really upset you. Next time I will try and think, before I speak.

mathanxiety · 08/05/2021 02:17

I love Jude, but I think Felix or Dylan would go better with Jensen.

User1357 · 08/05/2021 02:30

Felix or Jude
