Expecting our second son next week! We've really struggled to choose a name for him but have got it down to a top 5.

Wanted something not too popular but not too out-there! He will be little brother to Jensen.

Which name should we go for? And what are your thoughts on them all?

All fine apart from Brody as it sounds down market.

SuperbOwls · 06/05/2021 20:55

Brodie would be much nicer than Brody. Very Scottish! Felix and Dylan are both very nice too

mamablondie33 · 06/05/2021 20:55

Jago is brilliant!

I actually quite like Jensen and Jago

Oly4 · 06/05/2021 20:57

Jude or Dylan.
Felix is a cat’s name

MooseMoose · 06/05/2021 21:11

I like Jude and Dylan. Felix is ok. Not keen on Brody or Jago.

4weekstogo · 06/05/2021 21:13

I like Dylan best out of those

Xoxoxoxoxoxox · 06/05/2021 21:28

I like Felix .

My younger son is called Felix, so I might be a bit biased!

joystir59 · 06/05/2021 21:31

I like them all but prefer Jude over the others. I least like Felix.

Lollollol2020 · 06/05/2021 21:32

Jude - my son is called Jude so I’m biased. Smile

Lolo20 · 06/05/2021 21:32

Thanks everyone who's responded so far - so interesting to see the different opinions!

Jensen and Brody (Brodie perhaps a nicer spelling)

NellMangled · 06/05/2021 21:36

Jude by a mile.

chillied · 06/05/2021 22:06

Felix

BramStoker · 06/05/2021 22:08

Dylan would be my choice. I'm not keen on the other options.

cariadlet · 06/05/2021 22:10

I really like Dylan and Jude.

Felix is great for a cat.
Brody sounds too American.
Jago sounds made up.

HairyToity · 06/05/2021 22:12

Dylan

Lolascolas80 · 06/05/2021 22:18

Dylan or Jude - I have a Dylan and a nephew called Jude so a bit biased! I currently pregnant and Jensen is on my list

1Micem0use · 06/05/2021 22:22

Dylan is a lovely Welsh name

marypoppinsreturns · 06/05/2021 22:26

Jude or Brodie (I think the ie spelling looks
nicer).

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 06/05/2021 22:32

Brody (or Brodie) works well with Jensen imo, since both have that popular/contemporary "surname" feel. I'm not keen on using the same initials for brothers, so apart from Brody it's between Dylan and Felix for me (Dylan just edges it of the two, just sounds better with Jensen).

Icanflyhigh · 06/05/2021 22:39

I love Jago - I know a little boy called Jago too and he is awesome!

ShortSilence · 06/05/2021 22:46

Brody looks to my eye like a misspelling of Brodie. I know that isn’t the case of course, but it just hits my eye all wrong. And it has kind of an “airhead surfer guy” feel to it, IMO.

So, anything but Brody gets my vote Grin

ShortSilence · 06/05/2021 22:49

One of my relatives was really into the idea that we should consider Jago as a name. I’d never heard it before (I’ve still never met one) and she assured me it was very, very posh, a sort of aristocrat’s name. No idea whether that’s accurate but I guess for some people it carries those connotations 🤷‍♀️

Ellmau · 06/05/2021 22:50

Felix is lovely.

I wouldn't go for another J, sounds too matchy.

floridapalmtree · 06/05/2021 22:54

I like all of them, which is a first on MN! I also have unusual but not out there names for mine. It's nice to be not in a class with several having the same names.

Nothing wrong with having two children with same initials, I have and it's absolutely fine. Only ever issue is sometimes post arriving and you don't know who it's for.

Felix was fairly popular a while back don't know if it still is.
Dylan and Jensen go nicely together.
Jude and Jensen also do, although might be confused with a female.
Brody I do like, yes it's American sounding but so what.
Jago and Jensen also go well.
