I'm really gravitating towards this name and I'd be interested to get some feedback. Smile

Jospehine and nickname Josie. love it.

murmurlade · 04/05/2021 13:38

I think it's lovely and works for all ages! I work with a lovely clever Josie!

PineappleWilson · 04/05/2021 13:39

it feels old fashioned to me, but then the youngest Josie I've known would have been born around 1980. I was at primary with her older sibling.

Would you be using Josie or Josie as a NN for Josephine?

ofwarren · 04/05/2021 13:45

I quite like it
I would personally go for Josephine on the birth certificate though

donttouchmychoc · 04/05/2021 13:45

Good point re whether or not to use as standalone. Josephine is lovely. Thanks hadn't considered that yet.

I like it. Would put Josephine on birth certificate, as I think I prefer it and it would give her more options.

Edenember · 04/05/2021 17:45

Concur with others re Josephine known as Josie.

Whatalottachocca · 04/05/2021 18:01

Josephine, known as Josie....love it. It was my first choice for DD but DH hated it. 🙄

AuntieStella · 04/05/2021 18:05

I really like it, and would use Josette as the full form

moofolk · 04/05/2021 18:14

I like it

sunsetsand · 04/05/2021 18:18

Not Josette Confused

Why mess with it, it's lovely as Josephine and Josie

AnyaMoondial · 04/05/2021 18:21

Josephine nn Josie is really good.

AuntieStella · 04/05/2021 18:33

Josette is a perectly good French name that has been around for centuries.

partyatthepalace · 04/05/2021 19:23

As a nn for Joanna etc then great

VenusClapTrap · 05/05/2021 23:24

Love Josephine.

FreesiaFairy · 06/05/2021 04:20

Jodie or Rosie are better in my opinion :-)

miltonj · 06/05/2021 05:16

It's really lovely. Both as a stand alone name and as short for Josephine. As long as you don't say it to rhyme with cozy!!

mammmamia · 06/05/2021 05:38

I love it but really don’t like Josephine, I’d go for Joanna on the bc. Love that name but less keen on Jo.

Puntastic · 06/05/2021 05:43

Another that really likes Josephine. Makes me think of Little Women.

Puntastic · 06/05/2021 05:43

How would you say it not to rhyme with cozy?
Frownette · 06/05/2021 05:45

One of the loveliest people I know is Josephine/Josie so I'm all for it 😊

Congrats Flowers

miltonj · 06/05/2021 06:46

@Puntastic pronouncing it with an S rather than a Z sounds ☺️

Fifthtimelucky · 06/05/2021 06:47

I'd go for Josephine and I know two of them: one who goes by Jo and one of whom uses Josie, which I much prefer.

I don't suppose that she is the same one that @Frownette knows, but 'my' Josie is also one of the nicest people I know.

@Puntastic: I assume they meant that Josie should be pronounced with a 'see' sound not a 'zee'.

BonnyEm · 06/05/2021 06:50

It's one of my all time favourite girls names.

mammmamia · 06/05/2021 08:46

Yes Josee not Jozee. Much nicer!
