My DH Mr. Stevens and I have been very keen on this name for what feels like decades now. I simply must enquire Mumsnet as that birth certificate needs a name!

Jane is one of those names that until recently I never appreciated its beauty and elegance. I think because now it sounds so refreshing. Imagine a little Jane in a class full of Avas Ellas Lilys and Islas.

Plus if you've liked it for decades I think you'll regret not using it. After all who's to say you're going to have another girl.

Jane is lovely

Sorry to go against the grain, but I find it a bit dull, especially when paired with the surname. But then I also feel similarly about lots of other names - Loise, Charlotte, Rebecca, Sarah etc. All perfectly nice names, nothing wrong with them, just not to my taste. If you love the name, go for it.

Lovely name OP sounds good with your surname. You have the option of Jayne nn Jay also. Whatever it sounds lovely with your surname.

I find Jane top of the list for dullness sorry. Its non offensive so if you like it do it.
