Hi I found out a couple of days ago I'm having a girl. Help me decide which name is nicer:

  1. Amelia Marie
  2. Olivia Marie
  3. Ava Marie
  4. Chloe Marie

Chloe Marie

Thedogscollar · 30/04/2021 18:16

Olivia Marie it sounds beautiful.
Too many Amelia's already. Not a fan of Chloe nor Ava.

Sexnotgender · 30/04/2021 18:17

Chloe Marie

Sharpkat · 30/04/2021 18:18

Definitely not Ava Marie. I read it as Ave Maria. Sorry.....

Lol, Olivia has been the most popular name for girls since 2016! There's more of those than Amelia.
waitingforsun · 30/04/2021 18:20

Prefer Olivia Marie out of those.

I know a Rebecca Marie which I think is pretty

RickOShay · 30/04/2021 18:22

Chloe Marie

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 30/04/2021 18:27

I like Amelia but Amelia Marie is too M and EE heavy
Olivia Marie is gorgeous. It just rolls off the tongue. Olivia is one of those names that you can't fault. It never dates so will suit her right through life.
Ava Marie. That name annoys the life out of me. The Ava bit not Marie
Chloe Marie. Love this. Although if it bothers you Chloe seems a,bit dated, now.

@00100001
I know Olivia is the number one name. I work as a midwife and I can honestly say I haven't had an Olivia in over a year. Loads of Amelia's tho which immediately gets shortened to Millie.
I just prefer Olivia Marie tbh.

Terrylovesyogurt · 30/04/2021 18:35

Ava is a lovely name, the only one of the 4 like tbh. But definitely not with Marie.. impossible not to think if Ave Maria

mlj123 · 30/04/2021 18:43

Thanks all, I really want Marie for a middle name as it's the same as mine ( and my ds has my partners middle name, so I thought it would be nice). I was leaning more towards Amelia because I already have an Archie and I like the idea of both having names beginning with A. It changes on a daily basis tho and I really can't rule the others out.

I never thought about Ave Maria but that's a good point. Ava was my least favourite anyway so I guess I'll rule that one out.

They’re all just sort of ‘ok’. They’re all extremely bland both first and middle and while they’re all inoffensive, they’re kind of as basic to me as a name like John Smith

ShoppingPrecinctPrincess · 30/04/2021 21:00

I like Chloe. It's not as popular as it was a few years ago so there won't be so many in her immediate peer group.

AnyaMoondial · 30/04/2021 21:16

Chloe Marie is really pretty.

lycheese · 01/05/2021 02:07

Marie would make a lovely first name. I would go with Marie Olivia

Aquamarine1029 · 01/05/2021 02:09

I would go back to the drawing board, personally.

Maria53 · 01/05/2021 02:45

Chloe Marie. But I dont like the name Chloe! I just think that pairing sounds best.

JemimaJoy · 01/05/2021 05:14

Olivia Maria is beautiful.

MrsBertBibby · 01/05/2021 06:13

Matching initials sound a pain to me. But how about

Anna Marie
Alana Marie

gavalaaaaaa · 01/05/2021 06:37

If my son was a girl he would have been Beth Marie

partyatthepalace · 01/05/2021 06:53

Chloe

They are all nice names, but the others extremely overused.

mlj123 · 01/05/2021 06:57

I think Chloe was my favourite for ages, I know it's not very popular but I really like the name. I've gone off it a little bit as I realised I know someone already with a Chloe. I think it's between Amelia and Olivia now. The only thing is though I really like the idea of both names beginning with A, and I really liked Archie and Amelia/ Amy. Although Olivia is probably a little bit prettier it doesn't have the same ring to it. I am still open to new suggestions too.

Also my second option for a middle name is Nicole. I prefer Marie as that's my name and it would be lovely to have my name. But another option is Amelia Nicole/ Olivia Nicole.

I prefer Amy to Amelia.

Amy Marie is lovely and not too popular
