Hate it, sorry. Not my style at all.

My beloved dog was called Dexter.
Named after the show 'Dexter'
There is a boy in Dc school called Dexter..., I can't but think of a dog when they call him it.

To be honest when I used this name it was 13 years ago and o knew nobody with the name. Since then I know of at least three dogs called it...so annoying. 😂

I like Dex for short too.

I know a guy around my age called dexter and I think it really suits him. People call him dex as a nickname

I think of Dexter Fletcher and also the book/film One Day. It always seems American to me a bit like Brandon or Blake.

I think you should choose the name you love. We chose a name that was unpopular generally but it really suits our son and we love it. He's had no problems and we get a lot of compliments/comments about his name

Thanks everyone it's the front runner at the moment. I love Dex as a nickname. The closer I get to my due date the more I'm over thinking it 💙

Yes to Dex from Dynasty but nowadays my first thought is the serial killer books (and tv series).

Dogs name and tv serial killer are my first thoughts but it is an ok name.

My friend named their little boy Dexter and I really didn't like it when they told me what they were calling him; I just thought of the serial killer show. But now that he is a cheeky little 6 year old, it suits him perfectly and when I hear Dexter I just think of him.

Theoretically it should be fine but I just find it an unpleasant name. It sounds really aggressive to me somehow.

Like it! Yes, people of a certain age might make a connection to the serial killer show or the cartoon, but if you like it who cares.

I really like it BUT I wouldn't personally use it right now because of its huge popularity for Dogs (and humans) in the past 5 years or so

10 years ago I would have definitely said go for it but it feels a but too 'trendy' now
