We've narrowed it down to either Felicity or Chloe for our new baby daughter... really can't decide so looking for opinions!

Congratulations.
Felicity is a bit too long for my taste, but Fliss is nice as a nn.

I know far too many Chloes, shortened to Chlo, to like it any more.

MrBond · 21/04/2021 09:59

Jessie and Fliss/Lissy aren't too similar in my book.

Plus, Jessie may end up as Jess later in life, Felicity could be Fi or Lissa or Lissy of Cici... You can't tell really at this stage. There's no point worrying about the nicknames of babies.

MrBond · 21/04/2021 09:59

*or Cici

Amdone123 · 21/04/2021 10:02

Felicity. It goes beautifully with Jessica.
Chloe is dated, imo.

JustSaying101 · 21/04/2021 10:02

I personally prefer Felicity, but both names are lovely. Congratulations and let us know which name you go for!

Justonemorejammydodger · 21/04/2021 10:03

Felicity is a lovely name.
Chloe always sounds a bit awkward and clumsy to me.

Xanadu58 · 21/04/2021 10:03

Chloe

Bluesername · 21/04/2021 10:04

I like both! I don't like Fliss as nickname for Felicity, but Lissie is nice. It is rather similar to Jessie but I don't think that matters. Chloe is also nice. I'd suggest Coralie as a longer name (like Felicity) which has similar sounds to Chloe.

Pemba · 21/04/2021 10:05

Chloe is beautiful, Felicity quite pretty but a bit of a mouthful. Felicity is a bit try-hard middle class, whereas Chloe is classless and timeless.

Tatum1234 · 21/04/2021 10:15

Felicity is much nicer

SazCat · 21/04/2021 10:20

@BabloHoney

Congratulations! I love both names, Felicity may get shorted to Flick, Cici or Fliss, do you like the shorted versions?
Thank you! My least fave is Flick, I actually think Fifi is rather cute at baby age.

I agree actually with PP who said not to worry about nicknames. I guess kids will do their own thing at school age anyway and could end up as anything random!

I absolutely LOVE both
Chloe's numbers have been falling for years. I don't know any under 5
Felicity is gorgeous too
Oh no two of my favourites and I can't pick!!

luckymagnoliatree · 21/04/2021 10:28

I think Jessica and Felicity sound lovely together, plus lots of nice nickname options too.

You are so right about nicknames at school too! One of my best friends decided one day to start calling me Raven - no idea why as I'm not dark haired & it has no relevance to my actual name or anything! And it stuck the whole way through secondary school 😂

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 21/04/2021 10:58

Chloe

RuthW · 21/04/2021 12:20

Felicity is lovely. Chloe is very dated.

LarkDescending · 21/04/2021 12:30

Another vote for the lovely Felicity. And congratulations!

miltonj · 21/04/2021 12:32

Love Chloe, don't like felicity at all. Congratulations 🎉

YellowTwinklyStar · 21/04/2021 12:49

Hard as they are both nice. I'm going to go for Felicity though as it just edges it slightly for me

YellowTwinklyStar · 21/04/2021 12:49

Have you tried tossing a coin and seeing how you feel about the outcome?

Megan2018 · 21/04/2021 12:50

We have a Felicity Chloe!

Arrierttyclock · 21/04/2021 13:36

Chloe

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 21/04/2021 15:27

Felicity is nice - has an classy yet slightly quirky sound. I'm not as keen on Chloe personally, sorry (it also feels a touch more dated as there was a big surge of Chloe's about 20 years ago). I love pp suggestion of Cecily as a middle ground though - very historical, elegant and fairly rare now, but with a cute modern nn in CeCe.

Happycat1212 · 21/04/2021 17:03

Chloe

MadeOfStarStuff · 21/04/2021 17:04

Felicity

nonamenorma · 21/04/2021 17:12

My 2 year old daughter is a Felicity, and it keeps popping up everywhere - making me think it is not going to be a more unusual name for very long.

She does get shortened, and is know as flic, licity, liki, liss or flea by various different people. So if you don't like shortened names then it possibly isn't for you.
