Can you help us decide out of these names, the middle name will be either Peter or Thomas.
Our surname begins with N.

Thank you x

Alex

KirstenBlest · 17/04/2021 12:00

I'd say Ben but Ben Nelson sounds like Ben Elson.

Not keen on Oscar, but that's me.
Alex(ander) is great but I know so many.#

Both middle names are fine.

Try each one with the surname.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 17/04/2021 12:02

Ben. Its a great name.

Doona · 17/04/2021 12:02

Oscar

Nonameyet1 · 17/04/2021 12:03

Ben. Then Alex.

Oscar isn’t for me.

JustanotherTuesday · 17/04/2021 12:10

They are all nIce names. I think Ben is a good name for all ages. You could wait and see what suits him when he's born.
What we had originally picked for our youngest didn't suit him at all. We then chose a name we had never considered before and he actually really likes his name.

Violetlavenders · 17/04/2021 12:23

Peter

I'd use Peter as a first name! Strong and memorable as not too popular.

The others are overused and dull imo.

ILoveShula · 17/04/2021 12:53

I like Peter too. I know a young Peter and it seems such a nice names compared to the more trendy and overused names.

ILoveStickers · 17/04/2021 13:02

All great (not helping).

If pressed, I think I'd go for Alex.

Chilldonaldchill · 17/04/2021 13:21

I love Oscar.
Alex is lovely too although I would go for Alexander and I then prefer Xander as a nickname.
Ben is nice enough but a bit boring imo.

Violetlavenders · 17/04/2021 13:43

I know soo many young Oscars, Alexes (boys and girls) and Bens. I need their surname to identify them.

I don't know any young Peters.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 17/04/2021 13:53

Alex

But they are all fine.

DotDotDotDotDot · 17/04/2021 14:00

Oscar would be my choice. The other 2 are nice enough I suppose. I love Benjamin though.

sarah13xx · 17/04/2021 14:03

All nice but I’d go Oscar

schnubbins · 17/04/2021 14:42

My son (21) is Benjamin Alexander aka Ben .He loves his name.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 17/04/2021 14:49

Alex

jellyfishinatent · 17/04/2021 14:51

Oscar Thomas

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 17/04/2021 20:29

Ben/Benjamin runs into your surname initial a bit for me. Alex works but I much prefer the full Alexander (Alex is too unisex for me as a given name, though fine as a nn).

So despite it's trendiness I'd chose Oscar of the 3. I like Peter but I think Oscar Thomas N flows best (if I can't sell you on Alexander Thomas N!)

Amelia666 · 17/04/2021 20:33

I love Oscar - also love Alex (but now personally dislike the Alexa speaker similarity 🤬)
Ben is also a great name, as indeed is Peter. So overall whichever way you go it’s sounding good!

utican · 17/04/2021 20:39

My two boys have all of those names between them so I think they're all good :).

For DS1 we did register him Alexander, but soon after started using his middle name. It hasn't proved to be that much of a bother really.

Tillygetsit · 17/04/2021 22:56

Oscar.

sunflowertulip · 17/04/2021 23:46

We have a Ben(jamin) Thomas so that's my favourite! Alex is on my list if we were to have another boy. I'm not a fan of Oscar.

Banville · 18/04/2021 00:10

Alex. I've always found it a pleasing name to say out loud.

utican · 18/04/2021 00:17

Gonna add to my previous post that I love them all as they're all pretty international names too, especially Oscar which I love for being very Scando, Latin American, whichever way you want it really! Benjamin, Benedict etc has plenty of history to it, Alexander the same. I love the scope of them all.

Banville · 18/04/2021 00:21

Oscar is actually Irish. But I love that it's a really common name in Ireland and then also in various South American countries. Can't think of another name like that.
