These are the only names on my list atm but none of them feel like the one and I'm also wary about how popular some of them are becoming (for e.g a gf has just had a baby girl with a name from my list and another pregnant gf has told me she's thinking of using one from the list too)

I love the name Nancy but DH hated it.
She is now in her 20's and says that she is very grateful she isnt called Nancy, she hates it.

I like Eleanor and Penelope, don’t really like Lucy and really dislike Nancy. Like a pp suggestion of Elise/Eloise since you like Alice.

Nancy is lovely. Eleanor always sounds a bit clunky to me and I've never met a nice Lucy but maybe I've just been unlucky.

My fave on your list is Eleanor - very classic with lots of nn choice. If Eleanor is too popular now, have you considered the elegant, Shakespearean Helena instead? (It has many of the same nn choices as Eleanor - Nell, Ellie etc).

Instead of trendy Nancy - how about classic Anne/Anna? (Nancy was originally a nn for Anne/Anna).

Other classic names like Lucy/Eleanor/Alice, but not in the top 100 now -
