Boys names

Hey everyone,

So me and DP are due our little boy in August and names are a nightmare, we had a girls name picked out from day 1 but never successfully picked any boys names!

The type of names we like are things like:

Rory
Ruben
Ryker
Ryder
Rhodes
Finley (nn Finn)
Flynn
Toby (DP isn't keen)

And that's about it really. Does anyone have any other suggestions we may like if we like the above?

Surname rhymes with Creed if that helps with suggestions.

You are exactly me 😂 due August, having a boy, had a girls name picked! Rex is lovely. I liked Roman but my partner didn’t. Ruben is also lovely and I like you could have the nickname Roo! Ralph was also one we considered. Love the R names! The name Finn is taken already in my family but if it wasn’t that would 100% be the name. I don’t think you can get a nicer name! Depends how popular it is near you though

I like Rory, Finn and Flynn best from your list. Sorry Ryker and Ryder sound a bit strange to me.

You might like Rufus - quirky, cool and not overused but classical so less trendy feeling than many "R" names.

If you're due August, have you considered August as a name? Classical but quite hipster/trendy now (and could be Augie or Gus as a nn).

Judging by your other choices of names, maybe Brody or Heath might suit too?

We are due July and having a hard time with boys names too! Girls are so much easier for us. Some of my favourite boys but have no idea really...

@sarah13xx I also liked Roman but partner didn't! It's so hard isn't it hahaha! Yeah I do think Finley may be our top choice at the minute! It's luckily not very popular here at all, I dont know of any actually!

@DotDotDotDotDot I feel the same about them, they were DPs suggestions but don't quite sound like names to me!

@IamnotwhouthinkIam I do actually like the idea of August, I think it is quite cool! Definitely like Heath too actually!

Finley/Finn would be my number 1 choice then! It’s so lovely and suits a baby, child and adult easily

@Spied Jude has been vetoed by DP. I do like Sonny though, will suggest that!

@sarah13xx yeah thats my thought too! Finley is cute without being too cutesy for a grown man since it can be shortened to Finn as he gets older if he wants!

I’m very jealous, I so desperately want to use it but it’s taken in my family already 😭 wouldnt have to think about it if I could just use Finn! Think we’re going with Harris but waiting to see what he ‘looks like’ when he’s born 🤷🏼‍♀️

@tatianabis would never of associated Rocco with that haha, I heard it on an Australian show so to me it's a bit of an exotic name in a way

First thought was Austin, it's a version of Augustus so seemed fitting.
