Sister for Noah

Good afternoon,
I'm new here.
I have a little boy called Noah. I've already decided upon Jacob if I have another boy.
The girls name I had picked when I was pregnant with Noah, I now can't use.
I've really struggled with girls names as didn't really love any.
Recently, I met a baby called Eloise. There was something that really appealed to me about the name and I can't get it out of my mind.
I'm really starting to feel like I could name a girl Eloise.
Popularly isn't an issue, I chose Noah because I loved it despite its popularity.
Do you think Noah and Eloise work well together? What do you think of the name Eloise?

Thanks all! X

I like Eloise but siblings names don’t need to go together. They are separate individuals so not going together I think is a plus. My DT’s- b/g - names are nothing alike. One quite traditional and the other a nickname version of a much longer name

I think Eloise is a gorgeous name and flows
lovely with Noah x

If you love Eloise then go for it (personally I neither love nor hate it - it's nice enough). No, Noah and Eloise don't especially "go" together due to Noah's extreme popularity/obvious Biblical heritage - I'd more likely guess a Noah's sister to be called something popular/trendy like Ava or Isla or maybe something Biblical like Hannah or Martha.

BUT does that really matter? I don't think anyone would be at all surprised at a Noah and Eloise sibset, it doesn't sound odd the way Noah and a much longer/rarer name might eg. Antigone, Wilhelmina etc

The names go together I that they both have a history and are not OTT and are both relatively short.. If you introduced me to them I wouldn’t feel surprised at their name discordance

Personally not a fan of Eloise at all but it doesn't sound bad or unsuitable with Noah.

I think it's nice and isn't out of place with Noah. I like that it doesn't obviously "go" with Noah as they aren't a brand and it's nice they aren't both biblical names.

KoalaOok · 12/04/2021 14:26

Hope that makes sense! Basically it doesn't sound silly with Noah but equally doesn't make them sound like a clothing brand!

emmie841 · 12/04/2021 15:38
