@ghislaine

They have a rather US antebellum vibe with a dash of cowboy. Is that what you’re aiming for?
So true.

Sounds like a Faulkner novel.

TatianaBis · 09/04/2021 12:46

I have to say I don't like any of them, and I'm by no means anti Southern Gothic.

A friend of mine called her son Abraham and regretted it. She ended up changing it.

Hufflepuffsunite · 09/04/2021 12:51

I quite like Dashiell. I like Abraham too (favourite character on The Walking Dead). Really not keen on Lindsey! Errol makes me think of Harry Potter and Nickleby could work I guess, although to me it has Dickensian surname vibes.

I’m a huge fan of Clement - Clem.
The others are not my taste

TheWaif · 09/04/2021 20:37

Silas is the only passable one to me.

What about Seth?

shipsandgiggles · 09/04/2021 20:40

IAmTheDuke · 09/04/2021 20:43

Definitely an American vibe to those choices, I also suggest:
Archer
Arlington
Chase
Sullivan
Jameson
Reid

Tatum1234 · 09/04/2021 20:46

Dashiell is my absolute favourite. I wanted it for my youngest but dh wouldn’t.

PenguinBarnotBird · 09/04/2021 20:50

Love Jarrett & never met one before so scores points for uniqueness.

Clement is 🤮 unless you’re French

Lindsey is a girls name surely?!

What about Garrison like the American author keillor?

Exactly this, they're all very Old South
Thedogscollar · 10/04/2021 01:06

All awful

elp30 · 10/04/2021 02:00

I can't say I love your choices but then, it wouldn't be for any of my sons.

I do like the name, Brett, but then I do like Brett Anderson, the singer from Suede, you know, the band from LONDON so it's not all American.

Drunkenmonkey · 10/04/2021 15:09

A friend of mine has a Laith and at first I was like wha? But now I love it. Its a really cool sounding name. I also like Silas and Brett.

VenusClapTrap · 10/04/2021 16:29

I like Silas. The others, not so much.

How about Darius or Cyrus?
