How popular is Phoebe?

I really love the name Phoebe. DH had previously vetoed it but now says that he likes it. My worry is that it's currently no.22 in the name lists, which seems very popular to me. My other DD has a name ranked in the 300s. How many Phoebes you know? Do you like the name?

I know one of 3, 10, 12 and 16. Not all in the same geographical area and I've never taught one (primary teacher). It's a lovely name.

I have never met one or even heard of one other than the one from Friends.

I have a two year old Phoebe. I know of a couple of others dotted around the country, one is 11 the other is 6. Beautiful name.

I know of one, she must be about 9 or 10 by now...

I have taught one Phoebe in each of thr last two schools I have worked in! One would be 16 now and one 11. So not super popular, I really like it.

It’s strange isn’t it. From the hundreds of children I’ve met in the past few years there hasn’t been a single Olivia. Yet that name’s been in the top 10 for ages. Where are all the Olivias?!

Where are all the Olivias?! in my classes ha ha 😂 I’ve never taught a class which hasn’t had an Olivia in it and some years I’ve had multiples.

In 15 years I've never ever taught one, but I'm secondary so maybe there will be a few of them coming up in the next few years of its at 22. I think it's a nice name for what's it's worth!

A couple of them in the "child" age range. There's a lot more probably now young adults from when Friends was at its peak - my Nan who always hated her name was really bemused by the baby Phoebe boom at that point in time!

I have a 14 year old Phoebe and we live in a huge school district. Never once was there another Phoebe!! It’s very unique and she loves it!

I've never met a Phoebe though, really surprised to hear its number 21 , but if you look at the graphs of the official statistics (link above), the name is falling in popularity over the last couple of years or so so a good time to pick the name. I love it

My daughter is 4. We know 3 Phoebe's the same age and one who is a bit older (about 7?)

6 yo niece is Phoebe here.

I think it's a nice name.

I don't know any phoebes. But I do have a Frenchie called Phoebe 🤣 she is super cute. I have boys. I think it's a lovely name. I'm done having babies or I'd have used it if I'd ever had a girl. Love it!
