Ooh tough choice! Probably Alice as it's always been a favourite. I'll warn you though that all the ones I've known have been as mad as a box of frogs (in a good way!).
Matilda probably has more nn options.

Alice

Sorry for this but Matilda would likely get Tilly and every other dog I know is a Tilly

Alice. Beautiful.

Wishihadanalgorithm · 07/04/2021 20:06

Matilda. I’ve taught more Alices than I have Matildas.

ColourfulElmerElephant · 07/04/2021 20:07

Matilda.

Sall23 · 07/04/2021 20:09

I like them both a lot, but would probably go for Matilda (definitely not Tilly)

CroydianSlip · 07/04/2021 20:10

Alice. Classic, ageless, timeless..

I think Matilda and its shortenings are sweet on a little girl but less so as an older woman, plus it's v popular where we are so may date too.

MalagaNights · 07/04/2021 20:11

Alice. Timeless elegance.

Matilda is lovely but a bit 'now' so not as timeless.

itsgettingwierd · 07/04/2021 20:11

Matilda.

Cross posted with Croydian, but basically saying the same!!

AnyaMoondial · 07/04/2021 20:37

Matilda

Frazzled2207 · 07/04/2021 20:40

Like both but Alice is timeless. Matilda/Tilly seem very trendy. Likely to be a few in their class at school.

TheSpanishApartment · 07/04/2021 20:59

Alice. I know a couple of young Matildas and I don’t like one of them!

Bruce2 · 07/04/2021 21:12

Alice.

Matilda lovely too but very popular right now. We were between Matilda and Tabitha but having heard how popular they've become (or have been in past few years) we're thinking something more timeless now too

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 07/04/2021 21:47

Alice - pretty, very classic and timeless so would be my choice. While Matilda has a nice strength to it, it is much more subject to the whims of fashion.
