I gave birth on Friday and he was early so we thought we had time so we didn't pick a name although we do have some names we like, but I'm not sure the names 'fit' him

The names are: Evan, George, Micah, Benjamin and Christian.

Congratulations! My DD1 didn't have a name for two weeks! I love Christian!

Si1ver · 05/04/2021 13:07

Congratulations. I love Micah and Evan.

How about Eoin, Callum or Sebastian

clary · 05/04/2021 13:10

All those names are lovely. I feel that George and Ben may be more popular, if that is a consideration (either way).

Does one go better with your surname - eg you have longer and shorter names there - Christian Smith sounds better IMO that George Smith. Otoh George Atkinson bats Benjamin Atkinson maybe. Also Micah is good with a more common surname perhaps? A friend has the surname Smith and chose more unusual names.

PandaFluff · 05/04/2021 13:22

I like Evan best

Flymetothestars · 05/04/2021 13:26

How about Laurence or Tristan

Your list is lovely though I love Benjamin

Flymetothestars · 05/04/2021 13:27

Peter? Cameron?

EileenGC · 05/04/2021 13:27

I especially love Micah and Christian. The others are nice too. Congratulations!

DotDotDotDotDot · 05/04/2021 14:07

Congratulations, you have a lovely list. My favourites are Evan and Benjamin. Christian and Benjamin are likely to get shortened though when he’s older so that might be a consideration.

Thefaceofboe · 05/04/2021 14:43

Micah. Congratulations x

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 05/04/2021 14:43

My favourite is Evan - an underused, simple classic, but there's nothing really wrong with any of them. As pp said Benjamin will likely be Ben and Christian become Chris/Kit, so you will need to bear that in mind.

PattyPan · 05/04/2021 14:47

Congratulations! I love Benjamin and George. I don’t really like Micah or Evan though, sorry. Micah makes me think of mica (type of mineral = boring) and I don’t like the sound of Evan. I like Michael though, no one seems to use that much anymore.

SelkieBoru · 05/04/2021 14:49

They're all ok apart from Micah. Malachy has a touch of Micah about it.

orangejuicer · 05/04/2021 14:51

Took a week for us to decide. Made a big long list of names we liked and some that were just ok. Tried them on DS for a day and then came to one we liked but had never considered.

On that note, what about Theo?

Standrewsschool · 05/04/2021 14:54

Love Benjamin.

Other suggestions:
Daniel
Robert
Samuel
Owen
Zachary

BiBabbles · 05/04/2021 15:25

Micah is my favourite from your list.

Hope it's going well for you, your early little one and the rest of your family. With my bit early DD1, we went and forth on a few names for a week or so until one just seemed to fit her better.

RuthW · 05/04/2021 16:13

Christian would be nice as he was born on the most religious day of the year, according to some

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 05/04/2021 16:18

I like Evan. Benjamin's nice too, but there's more of them about than Evan.

Silverfly · 05/04/2021 16:19

My favourites are Christian and Benjamin.

BeeyatchPlease · 05/04/2021 16:28

Benjamin, I love it. Maybe I'm biased as that's DS' name.
I also had Samuel and Sebastian on my boys list.

GingerFox2021 · 05/04/2021 19:49

Evan sounds great! I wouldn’t worry too much, our little one didn’t have a name for 4 weeks as we couldn’t agree on the name plus there was no where to rush 😂 except that it needs to be officially registered within 42 days from the birth.

17caterpillars1mouse · 06/04/2021 09:36

Congratulations. I like all your options other than George. I think Christian is my favourite with nn Kit, Micah a close second
