Baby girl names you don't hear often

Due a Baby Girl in June and really struggling with names I like, a lot of the names I did like such as Sophia, Mia and Orla have been taken by friends / family.

I do like Alba, Verity, Luna, Flora, Nova and Polly (my DH hates the last three!).

Any other suggestions?

I have an 8 month old Luna. Don't know of any others Smile

If you're in Scotland it's worth noting that there are 2 pronunciations of Alba - Gaelic (Al-uh-bah) and British (Al-ba).

I like Sophia and Orla from your list.

How about:
Delilah
Elise
Lucia
Niamh
Faye
Rhiannon
Melody

I have a Tansy. Only 3 babies were registered with her name in the year she was born. We love it. It really suits her diva lively personality.

I love Verity. It was on our list (pipped by Felicity).
I dislike Alba.

I like Flora and Polly but have used them already on horses and hens! We get through a lot of girl names Grin

PatsyStone39 · 30/03/2021 17:08

Inspired by Alba, how about a Scottish Island - Jura or Iona?

WithASpider · 30/03/2021 17:16

If you like Verity then what about Romilly? I have an Eden and she's the only one over 2 schools. DD1's name would out me alongside her sister's but the alternate spelling becoming more popular.

I'm really struggling with thinking of names for my baby who will be born in July, some of the ones on here are lovely.
I particularly like Clementine and had already suggested it to DH who likes it too but then thought does Clemmie sound like clammy and put myself off slightly

I like Nancy or Nina. Love Joni too.

Would never even think to call a baby girl Sarah or Laura but that’s just my taste I guess!
