Hello thinking about names for baby. Here are my list so far.
Girls
Felicity- love it but worried its a bit posh
Naomi - would pronounce nay oh mi
Alanna

Boys
Nathan
Fraser
Alistair

Sibling is Elliot.

Not keen on overly popular names. We have a very common 1 syllable surnane.

I like them all. A very lovely list of names x

Magicbabywaves · 25/03/2021 16:40

Naomi is nice and you don’t hear that these days. Alanna is my least favourite, it sounds like that slew of Ada, Anya, Lana, Lanya, types names that get muddled in my head. I always feel that second syllable is too strong.

Fraser is my favourite.

Namechangin101 · 25/03/2021 16:40

Thank you, my only issue with naomi is all the different pronunciation.

I love Alana (I would use one ‘n’)

And Nathan from your boys’ names.

NextDoorKnobber · 25/03/2021 16:42

Felicity ❤️

pilates · 25/03/2021 16:42

Alanna and Nathan are very nice, not keen on others

Peachbubble · 25/03/2021 16:48

I'd choose Felicity or Fraser.

Jingers5 · 25/03/2021 16:53

Nothing you can do about how others pronounce a name 😉 Naomi and Alanna lovely names, Nathan is nice for boy.

gollymissdolly · 25/03/2021 16:58

My favourites from your list are Alanna and Fraser

IllNeverLetGoJack · 25/03/2021 17:01

My favourites are Naomi or Alanna for a girl and Nathan or Fraser for a boy. Very nice too!

glassshoes · 25/03/2021 17:03

Felicity and Fraser, they are the most distinct names, which I like.

Lnix · 25/03/2021 17:05

Felicity - what a lovely meaning it has, plus fabulous nicknames. Fraser - I just think it's cute but grown up too and matches Elliot nicely. X

hellcatspangle · 25/03/2021 17:05

I've never heard Naomi pronounced any other way than you described?

Not keen on Nathan, it was popular 20 years ago and the Nathans I knew were a bit thuggish 🤦‍♀️ I like Fraser.

Namechangin101 · 25/03/2021 17:25

I think some people pronounce naomi as nigh oh mi. Ive never come across a Nathan before so didnt realise it was popular 20 years ago.

Really nice list. I think Nathan & Felicity are the nicest. I don’t see Felicity as too ‘posh’ but that might be because my not-posh friend has a Felicity.

DotDotDotDotDot · 25/03/2021 17:36

You have a lovely shortlist. My favourite is Felicity for a girl, lovely meaning and I don’t think it’s too posh. Nathan is good but I prefer Nathaniel.

SnoozyBoozy · 25/03/2021 17:52

Love Naomi and Alanna (don't know any other pronunciations for Naomi than the one you mentioned though).

I'm not hugely keen on any of the boys. I do like Nate though, short for Nathaniel. I probably like Fraser best out of all of them.

FontyMcFontface · 25/03/2021 18:12

Felicity - hands down favourite, beautiful name, not posh
Naomi - nice but for some reason would make me think you were very religious. Also pronunciation issues.
Alanna - pronunciation issues (al-aaah-nuh, al-aaah-na, al-ann-uh, al-anna)

Boys
Nathan - don’t personally like it
Fraser - nice
Alistair - favourite

Do you like Finlay?

Flymetothestars · 25/03/2021 18:39

Wow what lovely lists !

Favourites are Felicity and Alistair/ Nathan

Least favourite us Naomi - just really hate the name sorry . Love all the others though

partyatthepalace · 25/03/2021 18:48

Love Felicity and Alistair!
Felicity more popular now, not posh

Don’t like any of the others - but I do love Nathanial - and maybe Adela is an alternative for a girl?

Arrierttyclock · 25/03/2021 19:32

Felicity and Frasier are my favourites

Noodlesnoodlesnoodles · 25/03/2021 21:18

Felicity- not keen, sounds quite horsey to me. How about Verity, Juliette, Celeste, Josephine?
Naomi - I like it, and would pronounce it how you said
Alanna - feels a bit 90s / dated to me. How about Amira or Elora / Elara?

Nathan - I actually know brothers called Elliot and Nathan, they go nicely, although I'm not keen on the name, sounds a bit wet to me. Ethan, Aaron, Zachary?
Fraser - love love love
Alistair - ok

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 25/03/2021 23:12

Alana (spelt this more popular way) is really beautiful. Felicity is also nice and would be my second choice. Naomi is fine, just not my taste.

Alistair is lovely. Fraser is nice too and would be my second choice. I'm not so keen on Nathan - much prefer the softer sounding Nathaniel.

Tambourina · 25/03/2021 23:33

Felicity- beautiful
Naomi - NAY-oh-me or nay-OH-me?
Alanna - not keen

Nathan - nice
Fraser - nice
Alistair - ok

Fozzleyplum · 25/03/2021 23:51

Felicity and Fraser. With Alistair, you have the " which spelling?" issue and I really don't like any if the others.
